Say what you want about pool boy, he swings big when it comes to coaching searches. CP at UW, Jimbo at A&M, and now potentially Riley at LSU.PostGameOrangeSlices said:
Why would Riley leave OU?Seadawg said:Stoops is probably waiting to see if Lincoln Riley goes to LSU. Stoops might pounce on his old Oklahoma HC job.

Stop acting like Kim with the subtle flexes about your access to Jen. You got a lot of love here initially because you shared good info without the ego.sonics1993 said:
Me, along with other people outside the program, have all told Jen, whoever is hired needs to be a relentless recruiter, and there needs to be an emphasis on recruiting with this next hire which she agrees. We are all sick of Oregon kicking our ass in recruiting, and that needs to change, which Jen fully understands.bluechipuwrecruits said:Sonics is Cohen looking for more of a recruiter or a coach? I understand that they could hire one that can do both. Any chance a guy like Donte Williams gets a look at HC if not one of the coordinator positions. Id love him as a recruiter personally. And Bob Stoops would excite me, but is he even interested and are we interested?
How about Ed Oregeron? Tom Herman? -

They should remove his statue at the University of Oklahoma because of his epic XFL (probably the most competitive sports league in the last 100 yeasrs) faceplant. It is sad to see how far he is fallen.JackDonakey said:Stoops is washed up. He took a XFL HC gig that paid $1M/year. Why? He could've gotten far more in college but either chose not too or didn't have any interest. If you're a top tier college coach, retire, then take a XFL gig, you're a loser, has been, washed up, POS.

Stoops first and 99% of your efforts on, then whatever mountain west coach you think is best (deboner, Whittingham) and then finally if everything's fucked, take Wilcox if he makes Helfrich his OC, both for bargain bin clown contracts.
Don't overthink it. -

- Is Pete returning a real possibility?
- Any idea who is on the committee? I'd guess Huard(s), yourself, Petersen
- I can't stop masturbating to the thought of Sam Huard in DeBoer's offense, please advise
2. There are people outside the program helping Jen which is needed. Everyone understands how big this next hire especially Jen, whose job is on the line with this hire. Huards are involved along with some other Alumni. I was asked last week about what is needed, and I gave my opinion. Guess they started respecting what I say after being completely right on Jimmy. I am, however, am not involved with the hiring, nor should I be. But Jen definitely has some help.
3. Go get laid
Or decent for a guy that wrote code for 30 years but did some hiking on weekends?

Kellen Moore!!!
Fickell!
Matt Campbell!!!
Fuck the Big12 and whatever loser conference Cincinnati plays in.
Fuck the NFL forever.
No one who isn't a proven recruiter whether stars or under the radar talent on the west coast should be considered. Except stoops who's the exception.

People really want to hire Tui to be the football coach and Brandon Roy for the basketball coach.

Brandon Roy, who has a PhD in basketball, would be a very solid choice as the next head basketball coach for the UW as he would lift the UW MBB program's profile nationwide while restoring local interest in the program from both supporters and recruits. Recruiting would boom especially if the UW completes its new basketball facilities. As long as he hires an experienced staff to support him I don't see any issues with any potential hiring of BRoy to lead the program.CuntWaffle said:People really want to hire Tui to be the football coach and Brandon Roy for the basketball coach.
We all seen how BRoy turned Nathan Hale HS into a State and National HS Champion after being a Metro doormat program in only one season by attracting top flight players (Michael Porter Jr, Jontay Porter, PJ Fuller, MarJon Beauchamp, Freddie Brown III) to his program. Players want to play for BRoy.
Anfernee Hardaway is coaching Memphis after only coaching in middle school beforehand and Memphis is doing just fine under him winning 20 games or more each of his 3 seasons.

If they hired Tui as the HC I'd quit the program and find something else to watch and post about.

Yeah that's not close to true. Penny won three straight state titles at East High (Memphis) before moving up. He ran a dominant AAU program also.ChillyDawg said:

Thanks for the correction, friend. The source I read said that he only coached middle school beforehand. Still BRoy would be a very solid choice to lead the UW MBB program.dnc said:

I wouldn't be heartbroken if we gave the job to B Roy but I think we have the ability to do better. -
What’s the difference between Roy and Juwaun Howard? Hopkins did get Bajema to transfer in.

Genuinely thought this was a whoosh for the first paragraph. I'm not sure where the assumption that Roy attracting blue chip talent to his historically inept high school program, and wiping the floor with the poor children who had to face those players, makes for an easy transition to success at the college level.ChillyDawg said:

B Roy cut his teeth with two of the worst offensive coaches possible. Romar and McMillan. McMillan basically ran 4 low every possession for years while Roy was in prime form. Hard pass. Love b Roy though.
And for those that think penny is killing it they didn’t even make the tourney at Memphis last year which is a failure at that school. -

Make it a tie breaker at best. If the person is only on your radar because they played school at the same place you did, they shouldn't be on your radar at all. For every Jonathan Smith out there, there are 10 Ernie Kents. It's lazy, it's stupid. Hire a good coach, period, that is all. -
If UW doesn’t contact Mark Pope and make him say no they aren’t doing their job.

I like Mark Pope https://byucougars.com/staff/m-basketball/80934/mark-pope as well. Pope and BRoy (associate head coach) could be a very lethal coaching-recruiting combination for the UW.theknowledge said:If UW doesn’t contact Mark Pope and make him say no they aren’t doing their job.
