K loved Jimmy when he was on the defensive staff.... so now that he's a head coach, what's different? The immediate thing that comes to mind is unbridled arrogance without justification for it.
So leaving that behind, I get. But..... Sark? Sark?
I think it's fair to say Lambo changed for the worse when he became head coach. More arrogant and hard-headed.

Did the pressure of increased leadership change him or simply reveal who he truly was?
Same with Jimmy.
I think working under DJ/Pete kept their worst arrogance in check and allowed them to play to their strengths.
We are in a stage of denial if we think all it takes to change recruiting momentum is winning on the field
Lots of you are delusional about recruiting. Winning absolutely helps recruiting. Kids see teams balling out and want to do the same thing.
We went 8-5 in 2019 and had last season cancelled. We also had a boring offense during Pete’s time and also lost every big bowl game. The whole conference except for Oregon doesn’t seem to be recruiting well.
I couldn’t disagree with you more on this
You see conditions, say that they are what they are, throw your hands up, and say couldn’t have done any better. That’s mediocrity at best.
If you are determined to chase greatness then you set a vision and everything you do is tied to executing that vision … you see obstacles as items that make you stronger while overcoming them … in a few words you’re relentless in your pursuit
Let’s be real honest right now
Oregon is relentless in everything they are doing right now
Name one item that UW is doing right now that can be described as relentless?
As a program right now we can best be described as fat, happy, resting on our past laurels, and unwilling to relentlessly fight
Recruiting is hard, requires a lot of time on a consistent basis and often is considered a distasteful part of coaching.
Chip was arrogant at Oregon and it was great. Not so much at UCLA
Arrogance works when you’re winning.
Chip was the Boss and had his way with the media at Oregon.
Same response to questions about a player’s injury: Day to day.
Rephrased and asked again. Day to day.
He was the consummate time manager and didn’t care who he pissed off.
They used to have a one-hour TV show with Belotti every week.
Chip taped it immediately following the game I think for a year and then dumped it as a waste of time.
It was traditional for Oregon’s Head Coach to come up to Portland during the week following a game and meet with The Oregon Club. I don’t think he did it very long . . . waste of time.
He didn’t give a fuck what anybody thought.
Chip is now rich and fatter and not hungry (after two failures in the NFL).
Chip’s agent also represents UnderArmor and when UnderArmor took over UCLA’s brand, they wanted a “big name” hire.
Lol. I always get a kick out of the LPT thinking they're part of the "in group", and that because they frequently interview and interact with coaches, think that they in any way "know" them. One listen to the 30-minute-a-week charity segment that KJR gives them, and it's a pretty easy diagnosis that all three of them are either socially awkward dorks, or somewhere on the spectrum, to say nothing of their abundant internet posts that make clear the very same thing. And football coaches, more than just about anyone else, can sniff that kind of social desperation from a mile away. Not once has Kwiatkowski ever bothered to have an actual conversation with any of those losers.
I really really like Jimmy. I want him to succeed badly. He's the kind of Coach that would be kick ass to have if he is winning Rose Bowels. Fun. Photogenic. Great face of the program type. If he would just fire some of these dead weight ass clowns he's got on staff and get to it. Fuck. Our coordinators are JohnDon and Gregory. Motherfuck! I get pissed every tim I think about it.
I think JohnDon was a lucky hire and he will end up being pretty good. It still was about the worst hire possible on paper but I think we are going to ball out on offense this year.
I think there's a real possibility of this as well. His passing scheme looked like a huge improvement over anything we have seen in ages. He appears to be a real quality QB coach as well. I hate the hire but I don't actually hate Donovan.
OTOH the running scheme and overreliance on it is the stupidest thing I've seen out of UW though. I'm just afraid that's more Jimmy than Donovan.
Now I hate him again.
Fuck.
In all seriousness if we show some imagination and creativity in the run game and actually allow D Mo to cook a bit the offense should be very very good.
Quite obvious Coach K didn't want to work for Jimmy. Speaks volumes he chose to work for Sark overcJimmy
A million times this. Dude didn’t leave to go work with one of the elite coaches or to test his mettle in the tuff SEC. He bailed to go 8-4 working for dude brah.

Same with Jimmy.

Once they were unchecked, disaster struck.
I've never got that criticism
If he sucks that's fair game

All that being said, just win games and make it stop.
Oregon had a staff full of long-time Arrogance works when you’re winning.

Oops . . . Headed back outside.
And which coaches would be on your short list?
Iowa State's HC
And then Jimmy promoted bob “washout” Gregory.
RED FLAGS!!!
