The possible saving grace will be the season (if it happens). We have the horses to win the pac 12. With the guys we have returning and the quality of the guys replacing last years starters there is absolutely no excuse for not winning the pac 12. If Jimmy is up to the job, we will absolutely FUCK in recruiting down the stretch. If we go 8-5 or something, we will likely have the 4th best class in the north (closer to OSU and WSU than to the top 3) and you might as well fire the whole staff and start over cuz it'll be all downhill from there.

This is doogy as fuck. We don’t even know if we have a quarterback, and there’s no spring ball this year. That is not a recipe for any kind of championship outside of the sustainability natty.

How is it dooging to say that with the talent we've acquired over the last 4 years, theres no excuse for not winning the pac 12? That's literally the opposite of dooging. Fuck the "we dont know if we have a qb" narrative. You have 3 4* recruits. Get one of them to play at a high level! Nobody else had spring ball so why should we fold the cards and say, "well theres no hope this year. I guess we might be better next year when we have spring ball and a new freshman qb."
Saying UW has as good of shot as any other team is different than saying there’s no excuses. There’s not one reason to put UW as a front runner. That includes talent acquisition over the last 4 years.

Did we lose another recruit or something? Or is this just a TBS emo post?

1.) We don't know if we? don't have a quarterback, the odds just play out that way.
2.) The rest of the roster minus quarterback has a very good chance of being the best in the conference.
3.) The biggest roadblock to winning the conference also doesn't have a quarterback.

I don't think Nanners is dooging that much. Last season, the Huskies either needed a linebacker, needed to ditch the wildcat, or needed to manage their WR room better. Any two of the three, and they may have won the conference last year, even with how badly it went. This coming season (by which I mean 2027), they'll have a top-three OL, top-three WR corps, top-three TE group, running backs, top DL in the conference, top-two OLB group, linebackers, and top DB room. In some of those groups, the difference between top in conference and #3 will be how young guys (highest rated in the conference young guys) work out.

Seems to me you don't need a dynamic quarterback to win this shit conference with the above going for you. Just game-plan/coach in a way that doesn't actively attempt to lose games, don't put too much on an inexperienced quarterback's shoulders, and win with the run game and defense. There are only four quarterbacks returning in the whole conference. Cal and Stanford in the north and USC and ASU in the south. If you ever wanted a year to break in a new quarterback, it's the year that everyone else is as well and you have the best supporting cast in the conference.

It's pretty much how it looked to me last year, too, then 8-5. So maybe I'll just go fuck myself.

Who has vastly better returning talent than us? I dont think we are returning amazing talent, but the rest of the PAC is dreck as well. Cal returns their QB but they lose all their studs on defense and have not recruited well in the last few years. Oregon is in the exact same spot as us QB-wise and has to replace 4/5 of their o line. ASU loses their 2 biggest offensive weapons. USC has Helton. Again, if Jimmy is the guy, He should win with THIS group in THIS conference.

Our DL and DB groups should be at the top of the conference with who we have returning. Otten should be one of the best TEs. Our WR group should be VASTLY upgraded compared to last year. If those things dont happen, then Jimmy is not the right coach. If they do happen, we win the conference.

We should have won the conference last year based on returning talent. How’d that work out? We’re a shitty mediocre team until proven otherwise. We downgraded our coaching staff drastically. Our defense should be really good, but if our QB and OC suck, were looking at 7-6 all over again. I’d say that’s the most likely scenario, which is going to fuck this bumper crop class right in the brown eye.

Oregon is also returning almost their entire defense from last year. The biggest loss is Troy Dye, and they are replacing him with 2 of the top 3 linebackers in the 2020 recruiting class.
