Pete not making friends with the FS high schools

1. I was not a big 'Jimmy Lake is damaged goods' person. I simply said it's an equation you have to consider. BUT GUESS WHAT YOU FUCKING SHIT HEAD - they considered it after the damage they saw it did this year (that is straight out of the fucking football offices too, so go fuck yourself with the 'it didn't hurt us' bullshit) and the HIRED WILL HARRIS, promoted Lake to DC and gave him a billion fucking dollars. It doesn't make the 'hurr durr - nothing to look at here' crowd look smart. It makes you guys look like a bunch of fucking stupid pollyannas who thought everything was fine the way it was. Those things are huge changes. We deposed one of the top 5 DCs in the country due to that shit.dnc said:
It's "Jimmy Lake is damaged goods" all over again.Dennis_DeYoung said:
Well, you understand recruiting super well, so I'll just defer to you.RoadDawg55 said:
Thinking about how this affects us with Smalls is pretty fucking doogish imo.Dennis_DeYoung said:
Why? Because you want to send a message to these guys? To what fucking end?Meek said:Dennis_DeYoung said:I love all you fuckbags in this thread calling the RB/Garf coaches morons - as if that fixes thing. Sure! They're morons! Done!
OF COURSE THEY'RE FUCKING MORONS. THEY'RE HIGH SCHOOL COACHES AND 90% OF HIGH SCHOOL COACHES ARE FUCKING SNOWFLAKE FUCKS.
I've never met a person who spent considerable time in athletics who wasn't overly sensitive. It's the price you pay to be in a weird cult.
WHO GIVES A FUCK?
Three things:
1. Right or wrong, it makes no fucking difference. This shit represents a serious threat to Pete and his staff's ability to land the kind of players we need.
2. This modern era of 'tell them to go fuck themselves' is Marvel Movie blustery bullshit. You want to draw 5mil from UW every year? This is part of that job. It's a fucking disgrace that our populous now thinks that pragmatism is stupid and posing like you're in a fucking Batman movie is the way to get things done.
3. Last, it's not just Beach and Garfield that feel this way. As long as UW is handing out offers like candy to out of state kids (see the past week) and waiting to offer in state kids (again, see the past week) this will be a perception. I know for a fact that this is a narrative that's developed ACROSS THE STATE in the last year or so. This is just the beginning of this.
-----
Again, I think Beach is FS for this tweet. OBVIOUSLY. Fucking Kalepo is committed. Fucking WSU passed on all those kids too. WHO GIVES A FUCK?
I think Thomas is FS, but you guys are fucking complete morons about this tough guy shit. Being a head football coach, you have to be a diplomat as well. This may not hurt us this or next year, but when 2020 and 2021 roll around, if this shit metastasizes, we are going to be fucked by this for no reason.
It's a fucking battle of egos. Who gives a shit?
Just do whatever it takes to make these people feel like you give in-state players the first and most serious look. Go over your process with all the head coaches. Try and help these coaches get jobs at colleges. Whatever.
I don't like it, but it's part of the job.
Pete's gotta deal with it one way or another.
with all due respect i completely disagree with you on this.
Fuck man. Managing in-state HS coaches' egos is one of the top requirements of any fucking job.
Any time you guys agree with the Doogs on doogman you know you are adopting the FS position.
You guys are fucking morons on this.
You are making the dumb fucking mistake of equating 'not liking this and thinking the coaches are FS' to 'it doesn't matter'.
@dnc - if you have a wife, you know - she might get irrationally upset about something and it might not be a big deal and it might be completely invalid, etc, but you still have to fucking deal with it if you want peace.
You know who thought he could tell coaches to go fuck themselves and still win? Lambo.
Lambo could not get one decent fucking black player out of Washington at the end of his career. You guys don't remember that?
Well - guess who was around back then - talking to both the HS coaches and Lambo's staff?
ME, that's who.
And I can tell you - we do not want a repeat of that shit.
Also, I suspect everyone (except for @Swaye and I excuse him because he's angry at everyone) that sees this as not a problem is white. That tells you a lot. You think that shit doesn't matter, you're living in a fucking fairy land.
Don't be a fucking Doog dumbass.
I repeat: any time you guys agree with dawgman, you are the doogs.
It's not a problem until it is a problem. Yes, Lambo was a fucking dumbass and completely fucked up many things, recruiting non-white in state kids and the entire state of Hawaii included.
If you really think Chris Petersen is Jim Lambright FS then I can't help you. Assuming Lake can't recruit before he has a bad class is stupid. Assuming Pete is going to blow it with in state black kids when he's literally gotten every in state black kid he wanted besides Snow Boarder is dumb.
I get that there's something in your DNA that requires you constantly have something to freak out about, but doesn't make this worth freaking out about.
I'm not screaming tell these coaches to fuck off. I'm just saying Pete knows he's doing. Every staff move he's made in the last two years demonstrates he values recruiting. He's not going to fuck this up.
He *might* miss on a kid or two he wanted because of this, but if he does he'll adjust quickly and get it fixed. The 2020 and 2021 in state bumper crops are going to shit gold and piss purple.
The chance this becomes Jim Lambright 2.0 is zero.
2. The black kid thing - you're not black so you don't get it. That's really all I can say when you say preposterous shit like that. UW missed on Tre'Shaun this year, Conner last year... but if you think that Thomas isn't tapping into some general resentment and anger there is in the SEA toward UW, you are a fucking moron. And it's not JUST black kids, but it's particularly black kids. You can say it SHOULDN'T be that way and you will pretend the way is the world you want it to be, but that doesn't mean fucking shit.
3. Fuck you - LITERALLY every time I've been flipping out about something PETE HAS DONE SOMETHING ABOUT IT. You fucking morons thought Strausser was 'FINE' and Nick Harris was great, and fucking Jake Browning was fucking awesome because of his fucking HS stats. I love you too, but don't start with this fucking bullshit. Everyone he's hired since Pease has been for recruiting purposes - and that's what me and Coker have been saying all along. But you guys think for some reason the fact that he fixed that shit after it was obviously broken is reason to think he's not fucking something else up.
4. Over the past month, I got a detailed blow by blow of how bad Pete fucked up Skinny's recruitment the first time. The feeling in-state is that Pete views WA kids on a slant. He takes longer to offer them and wants them to jump through more hoops for them to get an offer. This is straight from a fucking in-state coach. UW was blind-sided by Skinny committing to UGA. They were arrogant and thought they would see him throw a bunch and offer him before his senior year and get him and all would be fine. That same week Richt came in with their plan laid out to make Skinny the next Matt Stafford and while Skinny had always wanted to go to UW, that made a lot more sense to them than being slow played by a guy who'd never put a decent QB in the NFL. Plus everyone hated Smith.
So what did Pete do? He changed after what HE perceived as a major fuck up and a 'welcome to the big time' moment. That's why they offered Sirmon so early. That's why they offered Morris early. I've heard they like Millen more than Morris now, but they called their shot because they never want another Skinny situation to happen again.
To act like Pete doesn't have blind spots and make mistakes is completely FS.
5. The reason I'm exasperated is that you guys have this doog logic problem - you don't like Thomas and RBHS's stance and so you are saying it doesn't matter. It's just a fucking lazy position. It turns out that I don't like it either, but Pete has to deal with it. The blow-by-blow on Skinny was fucking embarrassing, but fit with the exact 'Pete wasn't ready for that situation and can be stubborn' narrative. That's why he kept Strausser around too long. Pease as well. That's why he hired a bunch of fucking white shit-heads and offered try-hards. Because he's stubborn. I fucking love him, but he's stubborn. But the issue is - each of these pieces of stubbornness rob us of years.
I'm not the one agreeing with the dawgman posters on this one. You guys are. Any time you're in that position you should think long and hard about whether having HIGH FUCKING STANDARDS has been the right way to go over the years or being like 'OH EVERYTHING'S FINE' has been the ticket.
Anyway, I love all of you. I've got the crud and I'm cranky. -

When/who was the last football player of any note from Rainier Beach?!?
And technically He was a Bball recruit. -
How are you writing all of these replies to Dennis when you clearly don't know how to fucking read? You're ascribing opinions to him that he doesn't have.
Nowhere did Dennis say that Peterman is an asshole or that he's ruining relationships with the local high school coaches. He fucking agreed with you guys that the high school coaches are morons and are creating drama for no reason. At no point did he blame coach Pete for this.
What Dennis is talking about is the fucking PERCEPTION that is starting to form out there. Whether or not that perception is fair (it's not) doesn't matter. Whether or not Peterman has done something wrong (he hasn't) doesn't matter. The fact is that the perception might be forming nonetheless.
What Dennis is saying is that it's Coach Pete's job to make sure that perception does take hold. The fact that the high school douche coaches are wrong doesn't mean that Peterman can tell them to go fuck a moving train. He has to do what he can to maintain those relationships and change the perception, whether it's unfair bullshit or not.
How hard is that to comprehend?
Fair is not the point. The fact is that it can get worse and hurt us in recruiting if we just ignore it like you doorknob-licking retards say we should.
Like it or not, maintaining good relationships with the sanctimonious asshole coaches of local high school programs is an important part of the job. -
Perception is reality.

Can we get back to what it takes for @dnc to get a piece from his wife?

Rick was smart enough to have him in the game to climb the stairs against your 6 foot 5 guy and get the pick. Nate was a freaksalemcoog said:

Gilby insisted that he choose a sport because he was old school unlike Rick and was SERIOUS about football
So Nate went to the NBA -
What did I say that's preposterous about black kids? Literally all I said is he's gotten every black kid he wanted except Connor. And he has.Dennis_DeYoung said:

To misquote @NorwegianHusky "How are you writing all of these replies to dnc when you clearly don't know how to fucking read? You're ascribing opinions to him that he doesn't have."
And we'll just have to agree to disagree on Jimmy Lake. He got Gordon and Hampton signed before the promotion. They didn't promote him because he can't recruit now. They promoted him because if they didn't he would have gotten the promotion somewhere else.
And you talked to one high school coach so therefore you think there's a narrative growing throughout the state. This is the problem with inside information. People think one person who knows a little means a whole lot more than it does.
HS coaches may not love Pete. That's not going to keep their kids from coming to UW when UW wants them. -
