Yes you do.RaceBannon said:That's not what the law calls for and to apply for asylum you don't just show up at the border. What we have had is - ok here's a date for your hearing don'r bother to show up because we won't find you.
Why not execute them by firing squad? That would surely deter people from trying to immigrate, whether illegally or by obtaining asylum. I know you're not arguing that as an option, but taking the logic to the extreme shows that the question isn't whether to deter illegal immigration or not. The question is whether the HOW (in this case, this new treatment of children) is worth the WHAT (in this case, whatever speculative benefits might come in the form of future deterrence).RaceBannon said:Someone tries to sneak in and all of a sudden we house and feed their family but that won't make more folks do the same thing
Right
Not true. Even Fox News seems to acknowledge that this is a sea change.RaceBannon said:There is no new policy other than enforcing the law to the fullest

No they don't. Its enforcing the law
We don't make laws based on hurt feelings.
Why not execute them? Why don't you go fuck yourself instead? Of course the object is to stop the flow of illegals. Its in all the papers
It is more humane to spread the word that illegals will suffer the consequences so don't try
You got roped in to the outrage of the week and feel bad. You'll get over it and go back to not giving a shit just like last week -
There is no law requiring the separation of children from their parents.RaceBannon said:No they don't. Its enforcing the law
We don't make laws based on hurt feelings.
There is no such law.
This is a matter of Trump's discretion, not a law.
Come back to me with an actual law--like, an actual part of the United States Code or the Code of Federal Regulations---and not just your say-so. -
I gave you the link
It's the law
Tough shit -
You did not. I gave you that link. And linked article says, "There is no law that dictates children must be separated from their parents when caught crossing into the country illegally, and there was a time when ICE policy didn't call for detaining all families."RaceBannon said:I gave you the link

Try pulling this off in Russia or China. You and your alleged kids would be sent packing immediately. Show them the USA is tough as nails and won't tolerate this anymore, and they'll stop coming.

They have to put them somewhere while they sort out the situation. They are not in jail.Squirt said:
This argument glosses over some crucial differences. American children of the criminally accused or convicted don't get placed in a detention center just because of the conduct of their parents. American children of the criminally accused or convicted remain free and in the custody of another parent, a foster parent, or some other legal guardian. They also are allowed to see their imprisoned parent, get calls from them, and receive letters from them. Totally different treatment.Sledog said:Same thing happened under Obunghole. When parents are criminally charged you don't get to take your kids to jail with you. HTH
I am going to regret posting in the Tug, aren't I. -
These are not the people being separated. Those being separated are either not with their parents or their parents entered illegally and have been arrested and incarcerated and you don't get to have your kids in jail with you! HTHSquirt said:
This is a false choice. The country can have immigration laws and enforce them without separating children from their parents while the adjudication process is pending.RaceBannon said:Unless you open the borders people that come here illegally and try to cross are going to lose the fake family they came with or even a real family
Children--even babies--are in detention centers separated from their parents because of Trump's new policy. A 2015 study by Pewdetermined there was a net immigration of minus-140,000 from Mexico between 2009 and 2015. The population of Mexican immigrants was declining before Trump took office, according to the study. Immigration trends didn't force this new policy on Trump.RaceBannon said:Letting them in for years is why we have had kids in cages for years and an ongoing shit show at the border
No one is saying there shouldn't be consequences. Just keep family units in detention jointly while waiting to consider whether their asylum applications should be accepted or while waiting for a removal hearing.RaceBannon said:If you want more of something allow it to happen without consequence.

You're coming at this again from your globalist angle. The world isn't an open borders dystopia. It's carved up into nation states, with each state looking out for its own self interest and the interests of its own citizens above all others. At least that's how it should be. The only nation expected NOT to look out for its own interests is the US. Fuck that shit. That's why we elected Trump, to crush the globalist agenda. We aren't going to throw open the gates to any and all fuckers from all over the world to flood the country and take jerbs from Americans. There are enough people out of work as is. You want a revolution? That's how you'll get one.creepycoug said:

Around here, it’s the Russians that own drywall. Not joking one single bit. Just North of Salem, there is a community called Woodburn. It’s general area is ground zero in the mass MODERN immigration to Oregon. Not only Hispanics but thousands of Russians as well that were deemed religiously persecuted. The Mid Willamette Valley is as good of a test bin as there is for mass immigration in a relatively short term, as there is in this Country in the last 30 years. We’ve benefited from this, but there are some hiccups all the same. Mostly our schools have suffered the most.YellowSnow said:

So I suppose no cheap housing was built in the US between 1924 and 1965 when the gates we're shut for 40 years? I'm not a nativist - far from it. But the honkeys that were born here need jerbs too and that has to be balanced against too much immigration driving down the wages they can earn (in certain professions). Some immigration is very good thing and benefits the economy, but unchecked and unregulated immigration likely has too high of a social cost. It's a lot more complex than just what the cost of new roof is with a group of Messicans vs honkeys. Look at CA, for instance, any cost savings from cheap labor, is off set to some degree by higher spending on social services- i.e., edumacation, healthcare, etc.creepycoug said:

If HH was for sermon seekers I'd explain his abuse of Romans 13. But alas, Dnc, HH is not for sermon seekers. Your church group potluck on Wednsday is perfect for that. Dawgman conducts sermons by Kim in every thread... You know that, and your wifey prefers your interweb history shows that as she checks it daily.
Like the NFL, Sundays are a bummer . Church is boring i get that...but keep it off this forum. As far as ass fucking is concerned, keep trying. She'll give in eventually. But when she does dont bury it. Start with the head the 1st time. Tease her with an inch at a time.. Pretty soon she'll be grabbing your hips and sinking that buddy of yours. Dont dump in there though, itll be the last time. I know its tempting, but unload on her back. Otherwise youre cooking dinner for 3 days -

Also many of these Kids parents don’t bother to learn Engrish, so therefore the Kids don’t either. Which slows down the learning process for everybody.

Letting them in for years is why we have had kids in cages for years and an ongoing shit show at the border
Just because the media chose to bring it up this week hardly makes it a new problem
If you want more of something allow it to happen without consequence.
The piece IN the NYT today going OVER Sessions and Miller reminded me how we got here: the NEW populism. You cannot wrangle out of this ONE with cute turns-of-a-phrase. The neo-conservative HAS absolutely turned his back ON free market economis. What with Sessions and his sandy memories of displaced chicken factory white trash, and Miller with God-knows-what pushing his buttons. Give me a fucking break. Even the most conservative OUTLETS I can find concede that these people do work that Americans no longer wish to do, and you and I both know what will happen if we have to fund a pension for a guy to mow MY grass.
I NEED to hear FROM you on this @RaceBannon .
That's establishment GOP bullshit that has nothing to do with conservatism
The democrats want votes the GOP wants lawn workers
I want what is best for America
Everyone of these democrat congressional districts has families in trouble that their grandstanding piece of shit representatives don't give two shits about
Construction is not the work Americans don't want to do.
Macro 101: capital and labor and equilibrium. It isn't the place of some message board jockey to second guess the invisible hand. Next thing you know you'll be telling me that Microsoft has written code that will solve central planning ... or some shit. If the immigrants find work at a given wage, then, by definition, the cuntry needed the labor at that wage. Period. Labor flows to capital and capital flows to labor. The guvmint and white trash hillbillies in Alabama need to stay out of the way.
Free market economics: the single most fair game the world has ever known. And now the losers of said game want to rewrite the rules.
Socialism through conservative politics. Never thought I'd see it. Even crazy Ronnie is turning in his grave as I type.
Sad.
You are either for free markets, or you are for rigged markets. There is no in-between.
It's not globalism. It's letting our people win biggly.
If there are people who will come here and compete and make it better, then that's good. If our organizations and their owners do well because of that, then that's good too.
I'm not worried, at all, about people who can't compete just because of the accident of history that they are here.
Again, if a third or fourth generation American family STILL can't figure out how to play ball, despite the monumental advantage you've had by being here, then maybe they need to leave the gayme altogether. If a second generation Korean family has figured it out, from convenience store to Ivy League educated children, then they deserve to win and they deserve to stay. If their paper work is not in order, then get it in order and keep them and encourage them to breed.
THAT is what American is. You're describing provincial France. Protectionist policies are a recipe to doom an empire. Like markets: you're either growing or dying. There's no other choice.
You and Race have really disappointed me today.

The Russians own the tile and stone wholesale and installation biz in Seattle, and biz has been good to them.salemcoog said:
Around here, it’s the Russians that own drywall. Not joking one single bit. Just North of Salem, there is a community called Woodburn. It’s general area is ground zero in the mass MODERN immigration to Oregon. Not only Hispanics but thousands of Russians as well that were deemed religiously persecuted. The Mid Willamette Valley is as good of a test bin as there is for mass immigration in a relatively short term, as there is in this Country in the last 30 years. We’ve benefited from this, but there are some hiccups all the same. Mostly our schools have suffered the most.YellowSnow said:

Immigration is actually necessary. Or economy is built where we have to have growth. Look at Japan's lost 3 decades for clues what could happen to America. You can't have growth without increase in population. And birth rates are declining.YellowSnow said:

But they want too much for it. Honkeys be wanting health insurance, paid vaca, hour-long lunch breaks, pension, 401-k match, career advancement opportunity, etc. etc.
After whitey and OBK are done with our economy, a 1200 sq ft rambler in Marysville will cost $2 million because you're all going to fuck up the supply-side of the curve.
You guys really need to fuck off with this protectionist shit. It's for losers. Believe me.
Sad
The Yella platform is simple, path to citizenship for most that are here already, and then close the gates for a while and let the melting pot do it's thing.
That being said, we need to refine or immigration policy to help those who want to come in to America and produce. Kick those out who want to not so much produce.
