Only a certain type of person thinks a Sanders presidency would look anything like an Obama presidency. And those people ain't voting democrat, regardless.RaceBannon said:The other thing is if the country is so angry isn't that anger at Obama or the results of his presidency?

That's a good point. Bernie is running to the left of Obama - instead of Obamacare go single payer, stuff like that.allpurpleallgold said:

Bernie has a very good chance to win. His biggest support comes from the dumbest, most entitled, fastest growing group in America. The 18-24 year old college students. Registered college student voters turned out at an 87% rate in 2008, that voter turn out is not matched by any other demographic.
I'm not worried about Bernie winning though, because I learned a few years ago, about taking care of myself. I am close to getting everything but my mortgage paid off. Once that happens, there isn't anything Bernie and his retarded group of entitled followers can do to me.
What's sad is that these same college students will get their free education, but the degree will be worth as much as what they paid for it, because there won't be much opportunity waiting for them when they graduate.
Teachers- class sizes are growing. Meaning that job rate for teachers is stagnant.
Doctors- Obamacare has transferred profits from doctors into administrative costs of the program. So now Doctors take in more patients at a portion of the income they were once making.
Nursing- see doctors
Tech industry- Natural evolution of technology is making more and more work capable with fewer personnel.
Lawyers/Law Enforcement- With the uptick in social uproar that will occur under Bernie's watch, these two professions, might give the most opportunity for employment. Law Enforcement might be out of the question, because the typical Bernie supporter lacks the fortitude to be in this type of profession. Lawyer on the other hand...there's the ticket.

I'm not afraid of any president. The country will continue to shift toward more statist/authoritative/socialist/interventionist policies like it has been for a very long time.
But at some point, it will all fall apart. Once we started getting the government involved in complicated matters, it was like we started building a house of cards that will immediately collapse unless we keep adding to it. So we keep adding to it....but that just means it's going to collapse harder once it gets too big. -
I haven't followed it closely the last couple of months, has Bernie made inroads with minority voters? Last I looked no one liked him except white people. He might beat Hillary in Iowa and New Hampshire on the backs of whiteys, but he's not winning the democratic nomination without anyone else giving a fuck about him.allpurpleallgold said:

Your argument is awesome, with just one major flaw - you think Obama got elected because of his policies. Obama got elected in a landslide because a) people were sick of Bush b) he had a fresh face (always about the blicks!) c) he oozed charisma d) he talked like a socialist.allpurpleallgold said:Endorsements are rolling in. Polling is up. Clinton is scared. It's going to be funny when the people that tore Hilary down realize what's standing behind her.
And here's the scary truth. Bernie Sanders already won a presidential election in a fucking landslide. It was 2008. America thought Obama was Sanders and he ran away with it. And even though you spent the last 8 years pretending Obama was that guy, he was really closer to the center. But we still want that guy, the most liberal socialist leftist president this country has ever seen, and we're gonna fucking get him.
Bernie only has one of those four things, and I'd argue it was the least significant of those factors for Obama.
The one thing I will say is that the right cried wolf (WOOF?) a bit by labeling Obama socialist and that has taken the sting out of the word for Bernie. But still, I might be scared of Bernie's politics, but I am not scared of Bernie getting elected. Not in the least.
The best possible thing for the GOP is for the Democrats to nominate an old white guy.
I think that America thought Obama was Bernie Sanders. In a nicer package, certainly. And that really really helped. I don't think Sanders could have won in 2008 because of that package. But I think that package works now.
Race pointed out that Obama ran as a quasi moderate, you pointed out that he talked like socialist and that's my point. People thought Obama was an outsider socialist. Everyone thought it. That's why the right spent all this time calling him one. And I think you will be shocked at how many people actually want that. But you shouldn't be because they already voted for someone that they thought was that guy.
And it's pretty clear the Democrats aren't letting Bernie win anyway. -

I haven't seen any new polling either way on that for a while. He's made a nice effort to get them. I don't think it's crazy to think that block could swing in a big way. They already turned out against Hilary once. Just a matter of if Sanders can reach them.dnc said:

The only thing that scares me about Bernie is that Trumps odds to get to the WH go up exponentially if he wins the nomination. The hipster wing won't get him in.allpurpleallgold said:Endorsements are rolling in. Polling is up. Clinton is scared.
