    1) Not enough of them exist,

    2) It is at least nominally geared towards college prep, even in places where it fails at that. In some places (like many suburban high schools) it really is all about college prep.
    3) You're right, some don't. Fuck them. No, sincerely, FUCK THEM. People that don't want to make any effort at all towards bettering themselves when it is freely available best not come back complaining about a lack of opportunities later. They will, of course, but I won't give two fucks when they do.
    4) Forcing them to would be BS. Giving them an option to do something they are better suited to and that will serve them better in the long run is responsible policy.

    4) trying to convince kids based on a test that they don't belong in high school, but in a separate vocational school, is some straight up communist bullshit right out of Russia.

It would have really helped you out.

The world needs ditch diggers Son. Hundreds of thousands of students with BA's have found them to be useless. The whole system of higher ed needs to be turned upon it's ear and made more vocational in nature.

Not the way it's paid for. Or should I say how it's NOT paid for in your world at least by the end user.

I've got friend in England that took a test in about 8th grade that determined he should move onto a more vocationally focused track in high school. Spent the next four years learning carpentry, electrical, some plumbing, did some apprenticeship through school and had multiple job offers by the time he graduated because he was experienced and ready for the workforce.

Blow up the system and rebuild it to actually be helpful to kids graduating. Not everyone has interest in college and high school is primarily geared towards traditional college readiness.

    You CAN'T do this !!1!1!!!

You have an whole generation of kids that need to be enslaved by a perpetual debt payment so the 1% can survive!!

    Wow.

Were you born a mongoloid, or did you have some kind of terrible accident that made you like this?
