We didn't do a resolutions thread but given this forum exists surely folks are trying to do things better this year. We've variously talked about eating better, exercising moar, drinking less, weight, but also having more bacon, hookers and blow, etc.
How'd everyone do so far?
With it being super cold and snow on the ground for virtually the whole month, I hit the gym a lot, erging every day of the month less 3. Way higher meter count than any month last year (175k+). As a result blood sugar has been excellent and weight is slightly down. Drinking less is hard but progress occurred. Need to focus on better sleep at some point.
Doubtful I maintain that pace as the weather gets better and I'll want to run outside but it is a good baseline.

I weighed 202 this AM, boss. Not trying to get under 2 bills or anything, but lots of old man erging/peleton/skiing + reduced beer consumption will do that to a fellar.
Commodore, I've been 202-203 now for a couple weeks; would love to fluctuate between 198 and 203 generally.
But I got 2.5 inches on you, tubby!
I don't want to be sub 200 but it wouldn't hurt for mt biking which is my main old man feat of strengths these days.
Like you, I find the sub 10 drinks per week just a bit out of reach. Too much socializing…
Damn you skinny! I may have to target 195 now.
I can have 2.5 drinks through EOD Saturday to stay less than 10 for this week. That seems highly unlikely.
Down to 199.8.
Insults get results?
I'm the Bob Ernst of these boards with all my fat shaming!!
I crushed my neighbors - who are all very fit guys - in the deep powder and crud on Saturday after like 4 beers on Friday night.
I'm going through treatments this week and next. This morning I told the two nurses about how friends of mine are calling me Atomic Piss. They howled with laughter.
@SweatpantsGeneral
Respeck @AtomicPiss for finding a bit of humor in dealing with an extremely shitty circumstance.
This board NEEDS a Bob Ernst to keep our shit together and to expect greatness
I should’ve voted down for not using “big belly laughs”
That's basically how I view my role here in our #MAHA community- i.e., to do Bob style fat shaming, and remind everyone the exercise is king and quit getting hung up on dietary minutia.
Finally got the peloton up and running. I’m on a two day hot streak. Just trying to get into a routine and get my fat ass back in shape. I used keto to jump start my weight loss, and now that I’m adding exercise, I’m going to reintroduce good carbs like fruits and veggies. Still cutting out processed sugar and all that shit.
There’s some hot yoga instructors on Peloton.
I haven’t seen any ugly instructors on there yet. I gotta do cycling classes with guy instructors occasionally so my wife doesn’t look at my class list and think I’m always cycling with a purple throbber.
Respectfully, this post will not age well
Vanilla must be something bad which shouldn't be consumed ever, because it hates me trying to reply to @AtomicPiss
Why will that poast from Yella not age well?
Respectfully, Stalin, I couldn’t possibly disagree more
Jack - who lived till a ripe old age of 96 - wasn’t saying diet/nutrition isn’t important. Clearly it is. But, rather, that exercise is KING.
We agree they're both important… But as Dr Chaffee says, (I'm paraphrasing) you can't exercise your way out of a bad diet.
What's Dr. Chaffee's VO2 max?
