But honestly, the data is damning. So, it's an easy point to make. If I were Oregon, the first fucking thing I would say to Sav'ell's parents is - 'we know you want your son to play close to home. How about playing somewhere that isn't using him up and doesn't respect him or his culture? Almost all players on UW have one white parent and usually the white parent was dominant in acculturating the kids. It's a white washed program. Here, we don't think there's anything wrong with being black, and we aren't trying to turn Sav'ell into a white guy.'
2) Data can be skewed and leveraged for whatever narrative that you want to spin if you want to advance a faulty message.
3) I'd be surprised to hear anybody tied into UW under Pete that views him or his staff "using up players" ... in fact it's pretty easy to argue that so much of what they do is to sustain their players.
This whole narrative that Oregon's advancing makes me sick and honestly pissed off. It's absolutely fucking loser talk.
In the course of a person's career, there are going to be a handful of times where you have an ethical decision about the manner in which you go about doing things, who you work for, etc. If this is happening at Oregon this is probably one of those times for Avalos. -

It’s not strictly demographics, but yeah, to ignore that is FS. Pete doesn’t recruit players that have families that want to get paid. That eliminates some. Others like Gee Scott aren’t a fit with Pete and we also could have players higher on the board. That seems to be the case with Rogers. The real problem with the program is the offense. Everything else is fine.
We win and put guys in the NFL. Recruiting has gotten better. Fix the shitty offense and maybe that would actually entice more big tome recruits to play here. -
You say our roster is getting more "non-black". I would say it's getting more diverse. I don't think there's a team in the country that is more racially and culturally diverse than UW is right now. We have American black kids, African black kids, Biracial black kids, Mainland Poly kids, Islander Poly kids, White kids of course, and a Fillipino. Our roster is the personification of the West coast talent pool. That's exactly what West Coast football talent demographics look like. Oregon recruits black kids from the South East because that's where Cristobal's recruiting connections are from his time at Miami and Alabama. That's fine. So if black parents want to know why there aren't more black kids on UW's roster the answer is multifaceted but simple:
A. West coast demographics have changed. There are a lot more mixed race kids than ever before and that is represented in the available West coast talent pool. An idiot like Gee Scott Sr. will question what OKG "really means" and yet his no offer having son is a light skinned mixed kid just like a shit load of kid's on UW's roster and Gee's a hypocrite for chasing that white pussy just like most West coast brothas. They want to accuse good white people of racism where there is none and yet they're out here ignoring black women and impregnating white bitches and putting black women down for being too dark. It's disgusting and hypocritical. We're all against REAL racism. Not bullshit racism accusations because you see UW only taking black kids who get good grades, know how to work hard, and have good attitudes.
B. Some black recruits along with poly recruits and white recruits are eliminated from UW consideration because they don't fit the profile. They might not give a fuck about their grades. They might not have good attitudes. They might not work hard. They might not be coachable. They might not treat people with respect. I'm sure Sav'ell Smalls being the fine young man he is doesn't want to play with guys like that because all they do is put out negative energy and most guys like that turn out to be shit players in college anyways. We've had many players like that in the past when the program was fucking terrible. It just doesn't work. It's not fucking racist to hold black kids to the same standards as white kids. If black recruits don't have a UW offer but want to earn one, then they need to be more like Sav'ell and get their shit together, work harder, become better players, and get better grades. It's that simple. I'm completely against giving black kids a pass because it doesn't prepare them for the real world. Chris Petersen has high standards for all of his recruits across the board. Calling him racist or racially biased for having high standards is insulting towards black kids and it's bullshit. Black kids do not need anybody to lower the bar for them. They can either meet the standards just like everybody else or they can go be mediocre at schools like Oregon and ASU.
If you're a black recruit who gets a UW offer you should jump on it because UW will make your dreams come true and not only get you drafted, but get you drafted as high as you should be drafted. You will also be a part of a diverse team culture that's nothing but positivity, family, hard work, and WINNING ON AND OFF THE FIELD. You will also get an education that's respected in one of the best cities in the world, which you will need if a life changing injury occurs and pro football doesn't work out. The bottom line is the only color these kids should care about is GREEN! NOT OREGON GREEN! FUCKING MONEY GREEN! SECURE THE FUCKING BAG AND GET MONEY! UW IS GETTING DUDES PAID WHILE ALSO OFFERING A GREAT DEGREE TO FALL BACK ON. It's an all around winning situation. If you go to UW you can't lose. If you go to Oregon you will not only lose to UW and others on the field, but you'll LOSE MONEY by not being drafted as high as you should be because NFL GM's and scouts do not respect Oregon's coaching staff. There is a monetary value on being an OKG. The NFL wants to pay the big money to guys with less risk. To guys who won't get suspended. To guys they know are dependable, hard working, quality individuals that they can trust. OKG's have higher draft stocks BECAUSE they're OKGs. So come be an OKG and get this MONEY!
