The rage of Big 12 fans in the replies is interesting.

it wouldnt surprise me to see some fucked up ACC/P12 'merger' between most of the teams in those conferences or uw/oregon/boof/youte go to big 10.

    coug/beavlet probably wont make it.

    just what im hearin....

I like the coastal war idea. At least as insurance vs getting folded into the MWC.

B12 is dead. Acc still has some juice and fun matchups.

We need to stay relevant enough that when the ultimate inevitably super conference merger happens, we're in.

There’s rumors that the big 10 wants 24 teams. Oregon, Washington, Stanford, and cal are basically locks

They also want Florida st and Miami. Miami and the sec don’t get along so big 10 is a better fit for Miami. They’ll want Florida st for the name and natural Miami rivalry.

That leaves 2. A lot of talk of Notre dame and Virginia. If Notre dame still says no. It’s Virginia and Virginia tech.

    4 pods with six teams

    Oregon
    Washington
    Cal
    Stanford
    UCLA
    USC

    Nebraska
    Iowa
    Minnesota
    Illinois
    Northwestern
    Wisconsin

    Ohio state
    Michigan
    Michigan st
    Penn st
    Purdue
    Indiana

    Virginia
    Virginia tech/Notre dame
    Rutgers
    Maryland
    Miami
    Florida st

That third pod would need to be tweaked though. That just seems brutal.

if you're notre dame, it better be a metric fuckton of money to get you into the big 10 and out of that cakewalk to the playoff schedule.

IMO the 2nd pod needs the most tweaks. That’s a pathetic grouping headlined by Wisconsin? Iowa?

Florida won't let FSU or Miami join the SEC, so it makes sense for the B1G to target them and get a foothold in the state.

The B1G is in the drivers set for establishing a new era of CFB, so it's chinteresting to see they're only talking about school revenue instead of attempted to leapfrog the SEC in terms of political power

If the coastal thing with the ACC can get around 85 cents on the dollar of a B1G deal I would rather do the coastal thing. Of course, it's way more complicated to arrange and ultimately likely to net less money so it won't happen.

That cakewalk hasn’t had any icing for years.

    They get there though

Killed by Bama in the 12 championship and two CFP appearances

They should really look at hiring Brian Kelly. Or Brian Kelly.

If Notre Dame joins it goes to the third pod with PSU to the eastern one.
And with that you could maybe mix up some of the 2nd and 3rd pods for more competitive balance.
UNC has to be in the mix for the eastern pod with UVA.

Fucking Florida. I hate those guys. Loved Superior. Guy was born to be a Hurricane. But otherwise hate the Gates.

If I were doing it, I'd drop Penn State down into Pod #4 in exchange for Rutgers. Geographically they're both close enough, and that would alleviate some pressure from Pod 3 and add some beef to Pod 4. Plus, Miami and Penn State have a long-standing rivalry and dislike for one another. It was kind of a prelude to Catholics vs. Convicts, but for State College instead of the other pedos. "The Christians are going to do something!!" for Bob

And while I was at it, I'd kick Rutgers and Indiana (or Illinois ... take your pick IDGAF) out of the conference and bring in Clemson and North Carolina. If one of those won't or can't come, then you go to Boston College, Syracuse, or NC State. I'd take BC for the academis bros and a great gameday experience in the fall in Chestnut Hill, as fine a location and you'll find for a fall Saturday.
