QB: Ethan Garbers RB: Jay'Veon Sunday, Sam Adams II OL: Gaard Memmelaar, Roger Rosengarten, Geirean Hatchett, Marcus Henderson III TE: Mark Swayeman, Mason West WR: Jalen McMillan, Rome Odunze, Gary Bryant Jr (really not sure on the third receiver)
Current commits are bolded, guesses are in italics.
QB - Garbers RB - Sunday RB - Adams TE - Redman TE - Yurosek WR - Odunze WR - McMillan OL - Memmelaar OL - Rosengarten OL - Hatchett OL - Persi
OLB - Smalls DL/OLB - Shipley DL/OLB - Lolohea LB - Racanelli DB - Esteen DB - Paster DB - Hector DB - Covington
So I went 2 for 5 so far with misses on Yurosek and Shipley. By Eklund's metric, I'm batting like 143% though, so at least I've got that going for me.
Revised prediction:
QB - Garbers RB - Sunday and Adams TE - Redman and West WR - McMillan and Odunze OL - Memmelaar, Rosengarten, Hatchett, and Murao
OLB - Banks and Lolohea LB - Racanelli and Bruener DB - Esteen, Paster, Hector, and Covington P - Punter guy (IDK his name) LS - Snappy McSnapperson
Switching my doog hope from Smalls to Murao here because we're at least getting a hat on the table. I feel the least certain about Paster, and was tempted to add another WR considering how many guys we are chasing and my prediction that Racanelli will never play an offensive snap.

This class would put us at 20 commits (lolohea doesn’t count towards this class technically) and a score of 245.48, would be 18th in last year’s composite and 20th in 247.
For reference UW was at 23 commits and a score of 258.31 for 16th in composite and 265.32 for 11th in 247 last year.
QB: Ethan garbers RB: Sam Adams RB: Jay'veon (I wouldn't be shocked if he's 2020's Nick Bolton tho) WR: McMillan WR: Bryant (this is my doog pick. Barring urbs being at usc prior to the signing period I think we win this battle) OL: Hatchett, RR, Gaard (brb, jo)
DT: I have no clue. There's not much out there and we're loaded here. OLB: McDonald (yawn) OLB: we need to land someone surprising here. My doog pick would be banks. ILB: fuck Bob gregory DB: covington, hector, esteen
Looks like a miss on McDonald. I'll go ahead and lock in banks as my doog pick at this point. Otherwise picks are looking good altho I forgot TE (not much to forget about besides redman lol)

July and August were much better to my predictions. I went 6 for 8 in the past 7 weeks.
Mid-August prediction
QB - Garbers RB - Sunday and Adams TE - Redman, West and Overman WR - McMillan, Odunze, and Racanelli OL - Memmelaar, Rosengarten, Hatchett, and Murao
OLB - Banks, Smalls, and Lolohea LB - MacDonald and Bruener DB - Esteen, Smith, Covington, and Hector P - Punter guy
Given that I've hit on my last two doog predictions (Murao and McMillan), it's only right that I jump back on the Smalls bandwagon. That puts us at 23 for the class. I removed LS because @sonics1993 says we're taking a walk on and going to add him to scholarship later. I think Luke Lane is supposed to be decent enough as a backup that maybe we don't take anyone.
This class would probably end up around a top 15 class nationally, but I would be plenty happy with it. I generally think about recruiting as a 2 year horizon, and the misses from last year are mostly addressed in this class (OLB, TE, RB).
Pass on Overman. They should just take two TE's again in the 2020 class. No need to reach for a guy. Devin Culp's emergence has alleviated the TE depth issue.
Did Jimmy really just swerve on Elijah Jackson and use him as leverage to get his teammate? Would be surprised if that's what happened. Doesn't really fit the culture of the program to do that to a kid. Jackson is probably the next to commit. If Hector is waiting around to find out if he gets accepted into Stanford, Jimmy might not wait around for him and he might lose his spot.
After adding Smalls, Banks, Hector, Carlton, and Overman to our class our total score jumps up to 261.85. That is slightly higher than last year (259.19) and would have put us at #14 last year. And this is before any re-rankings. I fully expect some of our lower rated recruits (Smith, Bruener, West) to get bumped up before it's all said and done.

Good chit.
What it is if we take Jackson instead of Hector?
Quite honestly, Mitch, I don't deal in hypotheticals.

It was mentioned we might take up to five DB's. Maybe we take both?

In which case the total score is presumably even higher than what @insinceredawg (obviously unless that means no Banks or no Smalls).
I'm just asking what it is if we swap those guys out cause I'm curious if that drops it below 2019's total or not.

Didn't have the punter or LS either but not worried about that.
Still glad we didn't take Shipley. Yurosek is a big miss though.
