Exactly. We'll have to rename the bowls some derivative of, "The No Prospects Bowl" or "The Guys who need to Ball One Moar Tim to Make the NFL Bowl" or "the Try Hard Bowl" or "The Kind of Kid You Want Your Daughter to Marry" Bowl.Swaye said:
Exactly. What do NY6 bowl's even mean if in 10 years the 3-4 best players on every team are all sitting out? I'll just say fuck it and sit around diddling myself and not watch any of itcreepycoug said:

What's the point of the conference championship game? Or the game against Oregon State? Schools need to start covering insurance policies or we're going to see kids sitting out the last half of their junior season.Swaye said:

College football signed their own death warrant when they started to listen to NFL fans on how to run their product
Bowl game ties ins for champs was college football. The national champion was literally an after thought given AFTER the bowl games
A plus one at the most
Now it is inevitable that the play off is all that matters -

There is always a thread of truth in every story
Here’s how it goes.
Rapp has a sore hip from when Joho McIntosh tried to kill him in that one game ( @RoadDawg55 might remember which one) Nbd. Everyone is fucking sore and has wounds at the end of the season. It’s not anything other than typical season wear and tear.
Rapp and the coaches continue to prep to play Osu.
A few days ago, maybe over christmas, someone in his family sees others sitting out of their shit bowl games (or maybe a “family friend” passes along some advice) and offers the idea of sitting out.
Rapp tells lake he wants to sit out, says his hip/leg is hurting but everyone knows it’s to protect nfl draft. He’s been going to the trainer for it weeks for his hip so the alliby checks out though.
Lake compromise is dress out for the game, go through warmups, think about it while in uniform in the stadium and see if you change your mind. If not we will tell everyone it’s an injury so everyone can save face.
Rapp pusses out.
Maybe Rapp was or wasn’t the difference in the overall outcome of game, but the secondary looked completely different and the replacement safeties played poorly to say the least.
Nothing better than "threads of truth" that are complete speculation. Well done! -

Sure as fuck, none of these guys are sitting out the biggest game of their careers on their biggest stage.
And I'd bet dollars to donuts there's more than a few future NFL guys on the field in Frisco, TX on Saturday. The smart ones know they can play their way into more money by balling out.
Carson Wentz didn't sit out the fucking playoffs.

If top players are willing to sit out Rose Bowls why do they bother playing the non-conference scrimmages at the beginning of the season? When do they start sitting those games out, too? Yeah, they end up only playing a half, but still. 10 wins used to mean something because the season was 12 games long. I think some of this is also due to playing too many games.

If Pete didn't tell the kids to ignore outside noise this never would of happened. Taylor would of been on here learning about abundance and saw value in balling out in a Rose Bowl.

Why do things have to be exclusive? Why can’t it be both Taylor Rapp is a god who absolutely carried this unit for two years and he pulled a soft ass move that ultimately doesn’t effect our long term goal so fuck it let’s move on?

rational objective thinking?
sure. Kinda Like planning a big landmark Anniverary party with all your friends and family. Big couple takes center stage, Taylor grabs the mic, flashes a life size photo on screen and says, “Thanks for coming everyone. I want to introduce you to my new younger Hotter piece that I hope is my future, Thanks for the ride, now Fuck off” -

You had some great times. She was the love of your life. She sacrificed for you. You have history together. The kids, the vacations, etc.
Then, you come home, and find her in bed with another dude.
All the other shit goes out the window like it never happened.
It's like that.

Whatever. Fucking play until they have to carry you off the field. If you’re warming up with the team, then start the game until you can’t fucking walk anymore.ByronMurphyTheGoat said:
Prett sure that’s what Lawyer Milloy would’ve done. -
And that’s why he’s Lawyer Milloy. Taylor Rapp is a different person than Lawyer Milloy. That will effect how much of an affinity you have towards Lawyer but it shouldn’t cloud your views of how you see Taylor. I was fucking butthurt as all hell yesterday when he didn’t play but my gripes are with the lack of recruiting, not the man who carried us the past two years. I get the resentment but only for a couple more hours.Passion said:

Kevin King played with one arm his Senior season with a torn labrum. Real Dawg. Greg Gaines and Kaleb McGary have had injuries throughout their careers and never missed a game. Both will play in the NFL as well. Real Dawgs. Byron Murphy has the highest draft stock of anybody on the team and a son to provide for and yet played yesterday. Real Dawg. I don't want to hear shit about "kids are different these days" because they're not. Kids that are tough, bad ass motherfuckers who would never quit on their brothers and want to play in every game still exist.
Taylor Rapp is still a Dawg for life but there's also some bitch in there and that's a stain on his legacy that will never be forgotten.
We're on to 2019. -

Look at both of you assuming this poor child's gender. I bet you would change Zee Murphy's diapers without getting consent first, too.WeakarmCobra said:

You gotta be carried off the field to not play in the Rose Bowl man. Budda would have played. Kevin King would have played. Sidney Jones would have played.

What day did this segment air? Was it pregame show or on his daily show? I want to give it a listen.
As others have pointed out, the only thing I have a problem with is the way that it went down.
I watched the game with a big group talking the whole time so I didn't hear much on game commentary at all. One of my buddies said his hip was bothering him and he couldn't go. I didn't have the full knowledge at the time, but I immediately said back to the guy "I guarantee you this means he's turning pro and that he could play; he just doesn't want to risk aggravating the injury."
Which i have no fucking problem with. If you come from modest means, it's been your lifelong dream and the only thing that could get in the way of a multi million dollar NFL contract is a significant injury, only fucking losers would blame a guy for not wanting to risk his meal ticket. You gotta get yours while you can.
And that's the thing...Trapp has put in his time, he's balled out, and I'd have nothing but love for the guy if he simply came out, fucking owned it, said it was a hard decision, and expressed disappointment at not being able to go out one last time with brothers in the grandaddy. What am I supposed to say that? Guy made a personal choice, owned it, is dying to be out there with his team but had to do what was best for his future. Good for him. Only he knows what's best for himself.
But hiding from the media all week, shutting down any questions, not showing up for his media obligation... I'm sure that was awkward as fuck for Brandon Mckinney. Guy had to cover for him, while talking to the press who are bitching because they'd rather be talking to anybody else.
Then resorting to making up (or grossly exaggerating) an injury because you're too pussy to own up to your decision, continuing to hide from the media and ultimately announce on Twitter, so you never have to sack up and be man about it?
That's some bullshit. Like I said, you gotta do you. That's fine. But the manner in which he chose to go about it... just makes him look like a bitch and put his teammates in a bad spot. Not a good look. At all.
