PM to Taylor Rapp

Why are people acting like someone can't finish a game with an injury but still be too hurt to go later in the season? Delano Hill fractured his hip last week and finished the game and now he's on the IR. We have no idea how severe it is. But it if it's even bordering on playing or not and he doesn't want to risk his career while playing banged up, how can we blame him?

Rapp probably did have an injury but could have played... but was worried he would tweak it bad hurting his draft stock which is bullshit. End of story.

The 2000 Huskies played inspired in the 2001 Rose Bowl victory over Purdue. Curtis Williams had been paralyzed from an injury earlier that season and the team dedicated themselves to Curtis and played with intense passion. It was awe inspiring and part of the proud tradition of this program that doesn’t seem to register with Petersen’s OKGs. If Rapp didn’t play to avoid risk of injury, I’m disappointed with him. But if true, I’m more concerned Petersen is failing to establish the right culture in the program. Don James’s players would have run through walls for him and sitting out for the Granddaddy would have been unthinkable.

This is going to happen to every program and it has. DeAndre Baker isn't playing for Georgia either and he was completely healthy as far as I know. It doesn't have anything to do with Petersen's system like you suggest.Homebrew_Dawg said:The 2000 Huskies played inspired in the 2001 Rose Bowl victory over Purdue. Would have to been a really severe injury to not recover for a month. Sounds like he went the route of I don't want to look bad. Would be a great read to go back through this thread if he decided to come back.
Anyways the idea that this generation of kids grow up dreaming of playing in the rose bowl is bs. It's playoffs or bust and about getting paid.
What's an even bigger pussy move tho is if he is not owning his decision and making the injury sound worse than it is. If it was really severe I don't think the staff would have allowed him to play. The fact that it was up to them says a lot. -
Dude shut the fuck up. It's a hip flexor strain! It's not a career threatening injury and he looked perfectly fine in pre-game warm ups. No limp, no nothing. He was healthy enough to play and give it a go and chose not to. No team trainers or doctors held him out. He bitched out on his teammates. Simple as that.FKA_Mousecop said:Why are people acting like someone can't finish a game with an injury but still be too hurt to go later in the season? I found myself talking to Sean Mcgrew's mom a few hours before the game (no pics). She said Rapp was sitting out the game to protect his draft status. I didn't believe her, it sounded totally fucking absurd.... still having a hard time wrapping my head around it.
It's a complete bitch move. Not just shitting on your teammates by sitting out the game, but then making everyone around you lie about the real reason you weren't on the field. -
Those movements look real sudden for a guy who was too injured to play or even try to play...
-
If he sat -- and sounds like that's what happened -- totally tarnishes his legacy.
And that sucks, was one of my favorite players.
But to have Murphy out there, and still sit? Fuck that. -
Yeah that's what's weird. So he bitched out and Murphy knew and didn't follow?doogville said:If he sat -- and sounds like that's what happened -- totally tarnishes his legacy.

Makes me love Murphy even more and I didn't think that was possible. He's got a kid. He's fast strategy. He's projected to be drafted higher than Rapp. And yet, he played.haie said:

If he decided weeks ago to sit this one out, why was he out there trying to warm up? There’s gotta be more to this story.

Taylor Rapp’s brother ain’t gonna like this bored anymore now that Tay Tay gone from our favorite son and hero for 4 years straight to a bitch ass pussy in a single day. Talk about a thud end to a career. Not MKG
-
What a dud you are, Taylor.
-
What pisses me off more than him bitching out is him lying about it...
-
Seems to me he tried to conceal his intentions to save himself for the draft by pretending to be a game time decision. Perhaps that was his plan. Perhaps that was by Coach Pete's design to help him save face and avoid public scrutiny.TTJ said:If he decided weeks ago to sit this one out, why was he out there trying to warm up? This seems out of character for Rapp. Is this all rumors and bullshit or do our internet detectives have something more concrete? Post in the ‘wam

enough to sign with an agent. look on the bright side his recruitment is officially over right @HillsboroDuck ?Baseman said:
But how much weight did Rapp lose?Woof said:Rapp weighs in:

This was all probably Pete's idea. Let's not forget, hes the same asshole who brought a purple shower curtain to the sideline to hide his play calls from graham.
-
I hear he's transferring to Simon Fraser to be closer to home

Here’s how it goes.
Rapp has a sore hip from when Joho McIntosh tried to kill him in that one game ( @RoadDawg55 might remember which one) Nbd. Everyone is fucking sore and has wounds at the end of the season. It’s not anything other than typical season wear and tear.
Rapp and the coaches continue to prep to play Osu.
A few days ago, maybe over christmas, someone in his family sees others sitting out of their shit bowl games (or maybe a “family friend” passes along some advice) and offers the idea of sitting out.
Rapp tells lake he wants to sit out, says his hip/leg is hurting but everyone knows it’s to protect nfl draft. He’s been going to the trainer for it weeks for his hip so the alliby checks out though.
Lake compromise is dress out for the game, go through warmups, think about it while in uniform in the stadium and see if you change your mind. If not we will tell everyone it’s an injury so everyone can save face.
Rapp pusses out.
Maybe Rapp was or wasn’t the difference in the overall outcome of game, but the secondary looked completely different and the replacement safeties played poorly to say the least. -
I can't imagine this made Pete very happy

business decision, can't live like all ya poor ass peasantsDoogieMcDoogerson said:Two Words - Fucking Millennials.

Pete is a pussy

I mean if a coach never wanted a top recruit again, he could ban players who sit out bowl games from attending pro day...but that’s about all coaches have as far as leverage and would be terrible from an optics perspectivePurpleBaze said:

I cannot imagine Pete would let Rapp watch from the sideline if he wasn’t legitimately injured. He’d send him to the front door to buy a ticket.
