According to my sources ND backed off because they won't have room for him.
They're already loaded at Rover and safety so UW needed him much more.
Notre Dame wanted this kid so badly that they covertly chased him for six months after he committed to UW, including multiple flights across the country, turned the pressure way up to keep him from signing with UW, only to tell him they DWHA?
I don’t believe it for a second but I think your version is far more embarrassing for ND than simply getting beat by UW.
Part of me wants to not accept his commitment. Make him go to Boise.
Fucking dumb. Sure he is being crazy overdramatic about this whole recruiting thing but this kid has an elite ceiling so you take him no matter what kind of grab ass he is playing.
Spoke to some people on this one and it’s starting to trend to Washington. We told you from day one it’s going to come down to position fit and the feeling coming out of the in-home visit with Notre Dame is that he is more comfortable playing safety. The Irish want him as a linebacker and believe he has difference-maker potential at that spot. Notre Dame pulled ahead at one point prior to the All-American Bowl and had a slight lead, but Washington looks to have made a tremendous push and likely holds the edge now. Even then Washington and Notre Dame felt he’d be Irish. At the Polynesian Bowl all signs pointed toward Notre Dame as well, as everyone connected on both sides liked ND’s chances. Out of nowhere, things took a 180 and UW has him back in their favor. I’m still waiting to hear if ND will even be going back in-home next week with Brian Kelly. The fact is if he ends up with the Huskies, all you can do is tip your cap to that staff for not giving up and fighting to the end. You can also give kudos to Notre Dame for not wavering on their evaluation and never flipping their decisions and trying to get him in as a safety when that was never their intentions. This has been a heck of a recruiting battle either way. Will keep you posted, but right now, UW should be looked at as the favorite.
Jimmy is a legend if he went in and closed that bitch up. I mean he already is a legend but I just want to go from good to great in the secondary because we’ve seen the level up from Sid and Budda to Byron and Taylor. Now it’s time to raise it even more.
