Yep, Nansen gets his recruiting news from ektard

Nansen gets paid to be on all of the recruiting sites. Why wouldn't he be? If you're a recruiting coordinator you're not doing your job if you're not taking advantage of every source of information regarding the recruiting of your competition. The motherfucker started hanging out at bars with Marlon's brother in SoCal to flip him. He's the ultimate creep.WeakarmCobra said:Yep, Nansen gets his recruiting news from ektard

Jimmy Lake flirting with leaving last year is really coming back to fuck our recruiting. You know all the other coaches in the conference are whispering in the ear of all his recruits that he won't be sticking around. I'd love to see UW give him the title of Associate HC or something with a agreement that whenever Pete leaves or retires he is next up however who knows when that will be.

Dude's never called plays, let's make him coach in waiting cause recruits!Edwin_Bambino said:Jimmy Lake flirting with leaving last year is really coming back to fuck our recruiting. Hi. I'd rather have Jimmy Lake coaching this year while we know we have a top 10 team and a shot at another pac12 title... as well as him coaching up the 3 good freshman DBs as much as he can.
-
At least half of college football is recruiting if not more so yeah I value recruiting. He has also been the best at developing talent on the entire coaching staff.dnc said:

I'm not going to pretend to know if Jimmy Lake can call plays well however he has been in Pete's system for awhile and if my proposal came to pass would most likely be learning under Pete for a number of more years before taking the reigns. It's not something I'm overly concerned with. If thinking Pete can develop his coaches as well as he can his players is being a doog than so be it. I don't think it will happen I was just throwing it out there as an interesting scenario.

Lake is phenomenal at developing DBs, no question about that. I love the dude. But no way I'm giving the future to a guy who's never been a coordinator, let alone at a high level. Every head coach I know of who never coordinated before getting the HC slot bombed.

Not disagreeing with your conclusion at all, but Dabo Swinney didn't have a history of being a coordinator. He was named OC under Tommy Bowden in 2008, but was the head coach before October was over.dnc said:

Even still, he wasn't named HCIW, he was named interim coach and only kept the job because people are stupid about likable interim coaches (Hi LSU!). He also sucked his first three years before figuring things out.
I'm still pretty comfortable with the general rule that a guy should prove it as a coordinator (at the very least) before being handed the keys to a program. -
Disagree with the bolded, otherwise, good.dnc said:

Recruiting is important. We aren't winning an NC without high level recruiting. On that we agree.
But there's so much more that goes into a great program. Setting a winning culture/work ethic. Developing players skills. Developing players bodies. X's and O's. Choosing the right players to play. Managing personalities.
I'm honestly not sure recruiting is more than 33% of it.
To be the best you need to be good at all of those and great at most of them.
Recruiting matters. It's important. But so are a lot of other things. -
I agree that all of that is important. But I have heard from the horses mouth (Not @SpiritHorse) that recruiting is over 50% of the job now. It is, it just is, it is what it is, therefore it is.dnc said:

It's a clear cut case of abundance that everything matters, that is why we are good, because everything matters and Pete is so good with culture, development, strength/nutrition, work ethic and all that.
