According to some ND sluts on reddit, Gordon is flying out there this weekend. Apparently he really likes ND for some reason, but doesn't have much of a relationship with their DB coach.
Alright this is kind of a reach, but I guess its worth mentioning. Notre Dame picked up 4 crystal balls this week to a Cornerback committed to Maryland, Noah Boykin. Obviously they still want Gordon, but maybe they're getting a back up plan ready?
They're also leading for Houston Griffith. If they get him and this Boykin kid, we should be in the driver's seat.
The poster CuntWaffle brought up some great points, but I haven't seen anything to make me thing he's seriously considering USC right now.
ND is looking to take a least 3 more DBs. So leading with one doesn’t affect any of the others.
Houston Griffith looks to be a lock at this point. After that they want Gordon as a clear second. Third they will take whoever they can get between Bracy & Boykin.
Currently Boykin is committed to Maryland & is scheduled to visit there next week so even though people are CBing him to ND it looks like it’s 50/50 at this point.
Bracy was thought to join his brother out west but now it seems he has told some he wants to head to ND, but not confirmed.
Gordon is in South Bend as we speak & is there on his own dime. According to him he has no other visits scheduled & UW does not currently have him on their visit list. The way a lot of recruiting insiders are looking at it is what happens after Sunday. He either schedules a visit at UW or doesn’t, which will tell most his intentions. A lot of people believe either ND gets a verbal this weekend or it won’t happen.
All this information comes from 3 different recruiting insiders as of this morning (not Loy or Wiltfong).
I am supposed to talk to one of the guys who is interviewing Gordon after his visit Sunday night. (Maybe Monday morning depending on when Gordon does his interview). I will post on here what I find out. I really think it will be evident then what his intentions are.
Not trying to full on doog here but don't be surprised if we get Bryan Addison tomorrow. Just watched an interview of him and he said he wants to play DB in college and he also wants to get away from home. UCLA is recruiting him as a WR and did not retain their DB coach. Him announcing right after the UCLA visit could be a smoke screen. Lake had an in-home with him during the week. If we miss out on Gordon but instead get 6'5 Addison and 6'2 Irvin to go along with 6'2 Hampton I would gladly tell Gordon to enjoy Indiana.
Lol at the part he said USC's pitch to him is they have soft safeties and they'd use him like Marvell Tell. Way to trash your current players to try to sign a kid SC. Faith, Family, Football.

He said he wants to get away for his official visits (as in see other schools) if you look at the context. And he's not even doing that because he's at UCLA.

What I was told about Irvin was that he was USC all the way but was mad about them slow-playing him. They waited a long time to offer (not sure why) & that opened things up a bit. Most thought that he would verbal when he got his offer but he didn’t. During a Q&A with recruiting insiders following him the question was asked about if it was still a battle & the insiders said “no, USC leads.” Someone challenged that & said they heard on a podcast it was a UW/ND battle & the insiders responded back, “according to our sources close to him USC is the clear leader.”
So it seems USC hurt themselves with stringing him along, but still lead currently.

This is basically my read. I would be fucking shocked if we got him. Especially after his visit.

USC insiders think USC leads for everybody from California that USC wants. Most of the time it's true but I'm not buying it this time. But appreciate you for sharing what you're hearing.

They guys i talk to have nothing to do with USC. I wouldn’t trust them, just like I don’t trust Loy. We call it “getting Loy’d” when he CBs every kid in the country to ND.
The group I talk to varies on the recruit. The three main ones are from Tenn (but went to Auburn), from West Virginia (went to WVU) & from Ohio (& is a former player & coach). They have no loyalties. Then I listen to the regional guys (so the insiders from the Northwest for Irvin & Gordon) & the National guys (who usually only follow the big time recruits).
So if the local & regional insiders agree on something it is usually pretty solid.
A West Coast kid, Geordon Porter, de-committed from ND today. When he verballed originally they all told me he wouldn’t stick, that ND was already recruiting others at WR. They said it was a matter of time, and they were right.
I won’t post something unless my go-to-guys assure me of it first.

However, I never get anything I want so I assume this kid is going to Notre Dame.
