We finally get a black kid with a name you should be proud of and that is the response. SmhDennis_DeYoung said:whatever.gif

Who cares how tall he is when his hudl puts you to sleep? This whole tall corner fad is bullshit anyway. Pete Carroll somehow convinced himself that the only reason he couldn't play in the pros is because he's short, so he drafted a bunch of tall corners, exactly one of which turned out good.
Get good players first. After that you can care about what traits you want.
Jordan Miller's film wasn't that impressive, either. -
That is ridiculous. Pete knows he is also white.NorwegianHusky said:Not a fan tbh. Kentrell Love's hudl is straight up porn compared to this kid. If we still get Gordon and Irvin it's kind of whatever but I feel like we should aim much higher than this.

I trust Jimmy Lake's opinion more than anyone on this bored...including me.FKA_Mousecop said:
Yeah it's hard to gauge it when half the plays are just simple run defense, and the other half is just play that isn't flashy.Passion said:I like his size, but wasn't blown away by the highlight film.
What you can see is the mobility and athleticism. Obviously that camp paid dividends for him.
I'd go further to say that the quality of any internet recruiting analysis anywhere is the equivalent to Dawgman. If Jimmy Lake starts a website while employed at UW, then I will change that stance. -
Love is also still very raw

Well the Seahawks have had some great defenses with tall corners. Jones and King were pretty good for the Dawgs last year as well.NorwegianHusky said:Not a fan tbh. All of those picks were day 3, they weren't supposed to be good.RoadDawg55 said:

Getting Richard Sherman and Byron Maxwell in the 5th and 6th respectively is a bad thing? -
Looking at West Coast Corners, there's a huge drop off from the elite guys to the mid-low 3 stars. Among the 3 star guys, Lake clearly picked Hampton as his favorite. At this point you kinda have to trust Lake's evals, and it looks like he got the developmental DB that he wanted.
As long as we can get at least one of Gordon/Irvin/Addison this DB class is pretty good. And if we get two of them then this DB class is awesome. Hampton's nothing special though, hopefully his Senior tape shows whatever Lake saw in him at camp. -
We need Gordon for sure, and one of Irvin/Addison/Croswell at safety. Probably Irvin.Neighbor2972 said:Looking at West Coast Corners, there's a huge drop off from the elite guys to the mid-low 3 stars. Among the 3 star guys, Lake clearly picked Hampton as his favorite. My fingers are crossed for a Byron Murphy type surprise that comes out of nowhere. I think it was mentioned somewhere on the bored that we? were doing better for Taylor-Stuart than most thought. That would be awesome.Neighbor2972 said:Looking at West Coast Corners, there's a huge drop off from the elite guys to the mid-low 3 stars. 100%. I hate when people doog and say the coaches know better then everyone else all the time. But, when it comes to DBs, UW and Lake are straight up money.Passion said:

And who's to say this kid stays a 3 star. Top corner prospect in Az, has to count for something. Unless Az is a drek this year

IRELATED: Top 10 Arizona high school football linebackers
No. 1 Dominique Hampton, Peoria Centennial, 6-2, 185, Sr.
Freak athlete who had 30 solo tackles and two forced fumbles last season, playing cornerback. He has a strong lineup of finalists from which to choose: Oregon, Colorado, Washington, Arizona and Arizona State. His length, speed and ability to lock down make one of the top cornerback talents in the West. -
Every recruiting class needs a guy who's either going to be a star or Montana State's new Xanax dealer.NorwegianHusky said:Not a fan tbh. AZ generally has only a few more 4/5 stars per year than WA.NeGgaPlEaSe said:And who's to say this kid stays a 3 star. Top corner prospect in Az, has to count for something. Unless Az is a drek this year

Yeah you might be right. Similar populations and percentage of black people. I think DDY or Coker have the state by state stats.dnc said:

How do the Poly totals stack up? I'd guess Washington has more Polys but I don't really know Arizona demographics other than they obviously have more Hispanics than us.FremontTroll said:

Chinteresting that he wants to wait until February to sign. My guess is that if he doesn't sign in December, we'll start recruiting other CBs to possibly take his spot.

Tells me he leaves if Lake leaves -
I agree, but I'm not that worried about Lake leaving. We've priced him out of anything but a non-P5 head coaching position or a P5 DC position. He already declined Cal. Sure Cal sucks, but do you see him getting any offers to be a Head Coach without being a true DC yet? I don't. Do you see him getting offered a DC position at a top-half P5 school? Possibly, but I think that's a long shot.Tequilla said:

It's only a matter of time before Lake leaves to further his career
