As much shit we give to Strausser, why aren't we ripping Jonathan Smith for QB recruiting? Before we go hang and touche Strausser, we need to get Babushka first

For a bored whose members are so well versed in the concept of abundance, I find the vehement defending of Strausser by some to be a skosh odd. Is it not possible to find a OL coach who is both good as a coach AND a recruiter?
Strausser has been a good coach, and he's sure as fuck better than what we had here before, but then again so am I. However, let's not pretend the dude is some kind of miracle worker. Of his first class of five lineman, only one is a starter, and Strausser has done such a superb job of developing the other four, that they were all passed up by a true freshman this year, despite that freshman being 6"1 and 270lbs, and having two years less experience.
The following class only featured two linemen, and so far this year we have one.
And for those who think that coaches recruit by region, or that Pete's the head man and it's really his job to close these on these dudes, that's just bullshit. The position coach always has and always will be a massive part of these kids decisions... to imply anything else is fucking naive.
Pete's assembled a buch of great coaches who also recruit like sons of bitches too: Lake, Hamden, Gregory, Kawasaki etc. Strausser needs to be less of a leper to recruits, or he needs to fucking LEAVE. Because at some point if you're coaching a roster filled with Matt James/Jesse Sossebee/John Turner/Devin Burleson/Jared Hilbers types, it's not gonna matter how well you coach.
