Here's how I view it...

1-5 wins disaster
6 wins extremely disappointing
7 wins mediocrity defined, time for a new coach
8 wins decent season, time for a new coach
9 wins modestly successful season, Sark probably deserves another season
10 wins successful season, Sark would deserve another season
11-13 wins Spectacular season; Sark would deserve extension and healthy raise

Agree. And for as much shit as we give Sark, a 9 or 10 win season is there for the taking.

With the OOC schedule the next couple years being so soft that should be an automatic 3-0 this year and 4-0 next year to start out. Of course they'll still shit the bed in conference play and ruin that nice start. This feels like a 5-4 type of year, maybe 6-3 if Jim Mora has the meltdown we're supposed to be on the look out for

    This is pretty reasonable, Derek.

I'm a little surprised but yes, your standards are good.

He would still deserve to go door.ass.out. with 9-4, but there's no way they could fire him for that.

He's definitely back with 8 wins, and probably back with 6 or 7 wins. You just can't expect to win with a black QB after all.

A large part of the fan base consider 6-6 and a shitty bowl game to be winning.

That large part of the fanbase thoroughly deserves another 0-12.

When UW rolls to a 4-1 start and some smart people point out that the schedule was front loaded with weaker teams, look for doogs to call those smart people "coog/duck trolls" and ask them why they can't just be happy with 4-1. The when 7 win Steve goes 7-6, they will conveniently forget what they were told at the beginning of October.

Yes, there is no way they would ever fire him after a 6, 7 or 8 win season... but this is how I see it.

Personally, I think they'll go 7-6 or 8-5 with four of the losses being grotesque beat downs.

If by chance they go 6-7 and invariably retain Sark, Woodward's response to any critics will be, "We do things differently at Washington than at other places like in the SEC. We like to think we have a little more of a balanced perspective upon the student athlete experience."

And the beat will go on.

My dad disagrees with me, as he feels there will be tremendous pressure to fire Sark should the Dawgs only win six games. But I think our standards have been lowered and there wouldn't be much of an outcry for Sark's firing -- save for the Stomping Your Feet Board du jour on Dawgman.com.
