Vision is his biggest problem. The running backs were @GrandpaSankey good vs Arizona. It was comical. Just show that film to the potential transfers. Over a hundred yards left on the field.SonnyShackelford said:Cam sucks I’m afraid. He’s broken about 1.5 tackles in my lifetime.
His has a well documented lack of vision problem too

pretty confident we land him -
My doog pants would get pretty tight if this happens. Hopefully they showed him clips of the Arizona game where we turned 50 yard touchdowns to TFL’s. A tradition like no other.backthepack said:

Some inside info but he follows our entire team on instagram lmao.

Is this guy actually good? Watched about 10 minutes total of Michigan State, most of it them going down big at Bama
-
His stats were solid. Something like 600 rushing yards and over 5 ypc. I don't remember exactly. He's supposed to be a good receiver as you'd expect playing for Leach. He's also decent sized...6'2" I think.PostGameOrangeSlices said:Is this guy actually good? Watched about 10 minutes total of Michigan State, most of it them going down big at Bama
I haven't seen any highlights, so I have no opinion about how he plays other than that he looks like a good player on paper. -
He’s a more athletic Taulapapa. Does the same things he does well, blocks in the pass game, catches the ball well out of the backfield but he’s a little faster. He’d be a nice addition.

we've been paying off portal kids barbers left and right!AtomicDawg said:

He caught that one TD (above). That was pretty bad ass. All I remember after are drops thoughTTJ said:

21 receptions 9.9ypr. Did I mention I think Johnson is a bigger, stronger, faster version of WT? He’s a good get.chuck said:

Did he catch more than he dropped though? That’s the ultimate deciding factor.chuck said:

But does he jump his way out of a touchdown (hi andre!)?AtomicDawg said:

Im still not positive Newton is not the best rb on the team

I think he is from a talent standpoint, but he never stays healthy.Penace said:Im still not positive Newton is not the best rb on the team

As a pure playmaker, sure. But Wayne was far and away the best pass blocking RB, which was a huge element to the offense this yearPenace said:Im still not positive Newton is not the best rb on the team

Newton looks like he is running hard, but he still goes down pretty easily. He had a couple very well blocked runs vs Texas where he had to make one guy miss and he never did.Penace said:Im still not positive Newton is not the best rb on the team

He was also great in pass pro and was dragging Texas players on a few carries.RoadDawg55 said:

Wayne was in the zone though. He continued to get better as the year went on -
Exactly. He can definitely make a play from time to time, but he leaves about 3 on the table for every one he cashes.RoadDawg55 said:

There's a reason Davis was the main platoon and started to get more carries in the red zone than anyone. He's a really safe bet to get some yards. He does everything full speed, full power and sells out to get positive yardage and fall forward. It's frustrating because he leaves some big plays in the table that Newton would probably make.
We've been parsing which guys suck or don't suck at every aspect of playing the position since Gaskin left, trying to piece together who is the best available. I'm over it and wish they'd find a couple of complete running backs. -
Part of the reason was Boner couldn't recruit RBs and was exceptionally lucky with Gaskin committing to UWchuck said:

The exodus of 3 RB when DeBoer took over, along with the portaling of 4 RBs (Papa, Nixon, Dumas, and Ngata) into the program, and the comments all spring about the surprising lack of depth speaks to the RB-by-committee approach this year.
Some of the RBs on the roster have flashed but are inconsistent. Hopefully Johnson transfers in tomorrow since the more RBs the better a chance we have one that produces at a high level -
