David Shaw and Stanford offered Tuimoloau in the spring. Washington, under Chris Petersen, offered him as a freshman, just three weeks into his prep career. Five days after being promoted to head coach, Jimmy Lake was there with a host of Washington assistants, including defensive line coach Ikaika Malloe and defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski.
Both staffs made sure that Tuimoloau saw them during the game and after.
"I guess I displayed that I could play both ways a little," said Tuimoloau. "But I still have a lot to work on."
Tuimoloau has visited Washington, Oregon, UCLA and Alabama during the last year and said he'll turn his attention to recruiting in the spring when he wraps basketball with a potential visit to Ohio State.
A five-star in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings, Tuimoloau is ranked as the No. 4 player overall in the composite while 247Sports ranks him No. 1 overall.
He has already been selected to play in the 2021 Polynesian Bowl and the 2021 All-American Bowl. -
