Jimmy's keeping Donovan

I enthusiastically supported the Jimmy hire. I figured if he was good enough for Saban and the fact he was young and cocky, then it was exactly what the program needed. That alpha at the helm instead of a buttoned-up beta in Pete. I actually believed him in his promotion presser that we were going to "attack" everything (everything matters!).FremontTroll said:
Its the AD when she doesn't fire Jimmy after this season (which she won't but still...) everyone here was on board with hiring Jimmy in the first place and its hindsight bullshit to claim otherwise.AtomicDawg said:

Makes sense why he seems so lazy (strength/conditioning, game planning, coaching hires, recruiting), he thinks success or failure sits on a knife edge made out of luck.
He is too fucking stupid and arrogant to understand that great success is built on a lot of small success. He thinks its just a few key things that did or didn't go his way.
I was wrong and can't believe how bad it is. -
I have screenshots of me telling Cuog friends that they made a better hire in Rolo than UW did with Lake. I stand by that take. #profileincouragednc said:

I don’t agree with the NIL point, but Jimmy sucks.SarkFanSixtyNine said:NIL era should be so fucking easy in Seattle.
Jimmy has a TOP 5 IN THE COUNTRY draw yet he's acting like he's Oregon State.
This is humiliating. -

I turned quickly once he let recruiting fail and the JonDon hire. I even thought he still despite that would be successful for two years. I was wrong. Please fire him now. -
If only someone said we’d be better off moving on from Jimmy …FremontTroll said:

I get the sense that jenn understands football is king and knows it has to be good. She does her best to hire a coach she think will be good and gets out of the way. In itself not the worst strategy. She is supportive to whomever is in charge.Tequilla said:

But what happens when Pete gets to the cusp and doesn’t like what he sees in big time football. She sure as hell isnt doing anything to push Pete or the program over the top. Instead she kisses ass and talks about how great they’re doing.
When she makes an awful hire like we’re witnessing now, what happens when quick decisions need to be made to repair the derailed train. Can she convince the university we need to do it, raise funds etc…? Probably not.
And even if she did, she is not a good manager of managers to get us over the top. -
Why does it matter if people were on board with the Jimmy hire when it happened?
After plenty of evidence he's very clearly a disaster really on all fronts. -

95%. And people who now claim to be against it at best were wishy-washy. There was no real debate at the time.dnc said:

It matters in the context of assessing Jen Cohen’s aptitude for being an AD. A good AD would’ve conducted a national search and weighed that against promoting Jimmy, even if she (and most of the fans) were confident that Jimmy was the right guy.gmo said:Why does it matter if people were on board with the Jimmy hire when it happened?
After plenty of evidence he's very clearly a disaster really on all fronts.
But she skipped that step out of either arrogance, incompetence, or fear of dealing with the media circus that would’ve come up had the Pete retirement been announced without a successor already named. None of which are good looks for her as an AD. She went with the easy path for her, knowing most of the fanbase would be optimistic about it.
Her biggest sins as an AD, though, are rather easily the blind contract extensions that she gave to the entire football staff after a nothing COVID season.
