The democrats had a big chance on healthcare and gave us Obamacare and starting losing seats the next election because Obama was such a lying piece of shit
Yeah we need healthcare. We need to scrap the remnant of Obamacare and get prices down and lower than they were before Obama ruined it
If the public loves Obamacare so much Hillary would have beat Trump. They don't. They hate both parties for doing nothing to fix it
Get the government out of it. Make sure everyone gets heatlhCARE. Fuck insurance by the government -
I thought Biden had it all locked up anyways? Seems to be a no lose situation for them if they are already on their way out. Perfect situation to get a conservative court before the Marxists attempt government take over.incremetal_progress said:You can attack her personally and quibble with some of her remarks but the message on healthcare is direct and devastating.
Yes the republicans got the SCOTUS supermajority liberals feared greatly, congratulations it's devastating. But it's also not going to play well in November, both things are true. -
You're right healthcare is a real winning issue for Trump right now. I wonder why he isn't leaning into it more.

page 2 issue. Obamacare isn’t on the ballot.

Court packing won't happen, Biden/Harris are going to have to grow some balls and actively go against the court on certain things. The precedent Trump has set is if the senate isn't going to convict you then you can really do whatever you want.
As usual, you Leftists are overplaying your hand by talking about impeaching Barr and Trump and packing SCOTUS with extra judges. Ginsburg should have retired in 2013 with Obama as President and Dem control of the Senate. She gambled on Hillary winning
In 2016 and we’ve had 4 years of her falling asleep and being in and out of the hospital because she lost the bet.
Under 2020 circumstances where evangelicals and conservatives are already rabidly for him and it's still not enough to win, this does not help him.
Good luck winning an election while jamming through a justice who will completely throw out the ACA in just months, completely upending healthcare for millions during a pandemic that he is doing nothing about. Seriously, good luck with that.
The purpose for Trumps second term was to transform the Supreme Court. He’s going to do it in term 1. I think he still wins, but even if he doesn’t, it’s fodder at this point. The war is over, as the Supreme Court is conservative for the next 20 years. Losers lose, and winners win.
The other factor is enthusiasm; A successful court nominee would certainly galvanize the right with Trump and I would imagine be pretty demoralizing to the left, it removes one of the "benefits" of voting for Biden and the outrage meter has already been cranked up to 11 for years, I highly doubt they are motivating new people to be outraged over this.
She's already dead. Empty seat automatically means higher stakes if left on the table. There's literally no reason to leave your opposition additional leverage if they win. You remove the additional incentive for opposition voters if you have the chance.
Those that will "punish vote" against you that weren't already going to are probably statistically meaningless. -
After reflecting on this I am in this camp now as well. My initial hot take was it was push lots of Voters to Biden. My initial hot takes are usually stupid.UW_Doog_Bot said:

The Dems and their erstwhile marxist/statist allies are playing to win the game en full and eliminate future competition. Spying on opposing parties, attempting a litigation coup, and attempting to leverage and instigate insurrectionists isn't "civil democracy". It's naked power real politik. I'm glad to see Trump's winners win attitude has rubbed off ever so slightly on the GOP. -
At worst it's a short term trade off for a long term gain. SCOTUS supermajority trumps (lolol11o1!0o) a presidential term even with a house and senate majority.incremetal_progress said:You can attack her personally and quibble with some of her remarks but the message on healthcare is direct and devastating.

Hirono draws heat for calling President Trump’s supporters ‘white supremacists‘
By HNN Staff | July 13, 2020 at 5:59 PM HST - Updated July 14 at 4:26 PM
HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - Congressional Republicans expressed outrage Monday after US Sen. Mazie Hirono called President Trump’s supporters “white supremacists.”
Hirono, D-Hawaii, made the comments during an interview on MSNBC in which she called for a more coordinated federal response to the pandemic and its economic fallout along with systemic racism.
“We should be dealing with economic crisis. And we should be dealing with the racism that is in our country, to which the president speaks to, because he has a base of supporters who are very anti-immigrant and white supremacist,” Hirono said. -

The other factor is enthusiasm; A successful court nominee would certainly galvanize the right with Trump and I would imagine be pretty demoralizing to the left, it removes one of the "benefits" of voting for Biden and the outrage meter has already been cranked up to 11 for years, I highly doubt they are motivating new people to be outraged over this.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPPKJMHkjcI&t=29s
70% don't want to overturn Roe, about the same don't want the ACA's protections repealed.

The Libs still haven't figured out how deep in the sack the Clintons, Obamas, Bidens and Pelosis are with the Insurance Industry and Wall Street. It's ironic, hilarious at times, but mostly sad that the Libs are so fucking stupid when it comes to money matters.RaceBannon said:The democrats had a big chance on healthcare and gave us Obamacare and starting losing seats the next election because Obama was such a lying piece of shit
Fuck insurance by the government
The great achievement of Obamacare was to mandate that everyone get insurance then have the middle class and working classes subsidize the poor and uninsured's premiums. There was no relief at all for 80% of the people who've been getting screwed by Health Insurers for the past 50 years.
I knew Obama was a POS when he punted the Public Option to saggy-sack Harry Reid, who in turn refused to bring the matter to a vote. Without the public option, there's no competitive check on the privates, whom continued to do as they pleased with Obamacare.
Fuck the Libs when it comes to Healthcare. At least the Cons openly admit they are fucking us and don't care if the uninsured die. I can work with that better than the duplicitous Obama bullshit. -
Health insurance carriers aren’t the ones making the money. I believe their profit margin is in the 4%-5% range, while drug manufacturers and care providers are making money hand over fist.TurdBomber said:

And Schumer does it too.

No do the Democrats and Obama in 2016 whining about Garland. But but it’s only the GOP who play politics. Does anyone with a brain believe this horseshit?Emoterman said: -

More context to the fact that in all her years on the Court she only hired one black law clerk.Sledog said:
