Higher rated yes. But most were very excited to get Cade as a recruit if they actually watched his film regardless of his rating.
At least nobody is doing the typical bullshit where they say, “If Kwat can make ZTF into the best pass rusher in the country, imagine what he can do with better recruits!”
If little Otton is 90% as good as his brother, he’s a great TE. There aren’t many, of any, TE’s in CFB that are as good as Otton.

True story. His recruiting film was impressive. You could see he had great receiving skills and hands, great reach, and glue hands. You could see he was big and tough and a willing blocker.
The only thing he has surprised me a little is in how nimble and fast he looks at that size. He carries that weight like it isn't there.

One of the biggest fallacies of the tbs crowd is to use this logic. I remember that exact comment about the 2016 defense. Regardless of how highly ranked the croots we brought in going forward were we are never getting a higher performing secondary than rapp, baker, king and jones. Our interior line was ridiculously deep that year as well but we heard the whole " we are just getting started bs about imagine all the higher rated guys we will get now."
When you are consistently producing all conference and all American level players that are drafted the first two days of the draft it's not getting any better. Now there were some glaring holes on that defense, but you're not getting better than the top performers.

We have better corners right now than 2016 hth.
Taylor is easily 6th best out of the 6. You could argue any order for the other 5.

I even liked him on defense. He was a smart, physical football player that is a true football guy. Family coaches, great kid, all that combined with size and ability. I didn’t expect him to be this good, but I always liked him.

Gotta go with 2016.
McDuffie is better than Sid. Elijah is the 4th highest graded player in the country. Kyler Gordon. Keith Taylor. I’ll take this group 10/10.

Starters no. Budda was your nickel although he blitzed a lot and they schemed different. King and jones > mcduffie and Taylor. Taylor still doesn't have a pick if I remember right.
Jones and Budda were on multiple all American lists by season end.
Regardless the point is when your secondary is the best in the country in a given year, it doesn't get better because of star ratings in subsequent years.

SMFJ was going to be the first corner taken before he blew his achilles. I have been in love with McDuffie since long before he committed here but I'm not giving him better than jr Sid as a true sophomore.
PFF grades are cute and semi interesting. Don't make actual arguments with them.
SMFJ, Budda Baker and Kevin King is a ridiculous starting trio.

He’s Sidney with elite athletic testing, stop. This is major cap. McDuffie is much more explosive.

Boy, wait until he hears what the Pac-12 decided to do last month...
