Imagine doing anything other than microbrew and weed soda/edible in the Pacific Northwest.
IPAs and NW microbrews suck. Give me euro beers or give me death. Fight me on it.
Edibles all good.
This thread is becoming a catch all for the worst takes. Good lord.
Agree on edibles, but that other part is pure garbage. Prefer what you prefer, but the PNW owns the IPA game. Bigly.
PWNING a suck category is like winning the Class 1B championship....big deal, now go play with the big boys.
Tallest midget.
Now, are you Team gummies or Team infused-soda on the edibles side?
Jazz gummies for sure.
I had some peach flavored gummies over the weekend that were goddamned delicious. Aesthetically, they kind of fucked up the infusion so there was a big blue blob in the middle. But that chowed down fine and in 90 minutes or so I gave no fucks. May have even been persuaded to knock back a bile-flavored IPA if one had been available. But there wasn't so vodka/club it had to be.

I will add, drinking Lowland scotch is like drinking piss.
Never drink scotch on the rocks or with an ice ball. It shows you're a novice, and likely a gigantic wuss. If the scotch is too strong, just give it literally a single drop or two of water. It changes the entire makeup of your pour.
I was actually schooled on that in an Edinburgh pub. We bought a couple flights of whisky (as the Scots call scotch) and they delivered it along with a little glass of water and a straw. I’m like WTF is this for? They go on to explain a DROP or two of water is allowable. A DROP!!!
A couple of the whiskys ripped holes in my esophagus but I’d be damned if I was going to pussy out and use the straw dropper.
How about you get a cool looking rock, wash it clean, then put it in the glass while damp? Equivalent to a drop of water being added and you still have a drink "on the rocks."
Please, forgive the dad joke. Can't help it now that the second one has arrived.

No, it means that you like drinking cooler beverages than warmer beverages
There are very few things I have any desire to drink at room temperature
Try whisky stones. On the rocks used to literally mean adding cold stones from the river. As much as ice dilutes, it also dumbs your tongue to subtleties. The rocks don't get it that cold
That is unless you just like it with ice, then have it with ice.
God dammit. I shoulda read a couple posts further...

I remember my IPAs suck phase.
Not saying there aren't good Euro beers, don't twist. I love Belgians, trappists and other shit brewed by monks, saisons, etc. It sounds like you prefer stuff with malt/candy behind it. You just need to find the right gateway beer to get in to IPAs. This is spoken from personal experience. I hated beer until after I turned 30.

Agree with you here. My brother and dad are big beer guys and I’ve had some great IPA’s from them. I never care enough to remember which ones they are tho.

The Throbber is much closer to 2x30 years old than 30.
Moving into what could feasibly be the third period in the game of life, the range of items ingested has been broad across several continents. IPAs are somewhere between bile and quinine.

Belgium and Germany make some fantastic beer.
But when I do, odds are that beer will be an IPA.
