Anyway my point is made by the fact he was offered by Michigan and committed to Texas which means by his definition they are as desperate as Oregon.
It’s really not worth getting sucked into it. Oregon and UW have two different recruiting strategies on the DL. Truth be told we couldn’t execute what UW is doing. Malloe and UW deserve the best West Coast talent. It is what is.
What SAC is unwilling to admit is that Oregon’s strategy is an extremely good alternative. Taking B level kids from the Southeast and getting numbers will produce. The kids that don’t pan out will be more likely to transfer home.
Taking West Coast kids will lead to uneven classes. Sure, you can redshirt and greyshirt to even it out a bit.
The dudes from the southeast are ready made. You don’t have to worry about framing up a kid and hoping he puts on weight. Evans, Caldwell and Edwards are already big.
The Southeast D-lineman Oregon has and are recruiting suck. Williams and Dorlus are scrubs. 3-star guys from the Southeast are not inherently better than 3-star guys from the West coast just because they're from the Southeast. West coast Poly D-lineman are better than bottom of the barrel leftovers from the Southeast that the big schools down there didn't want.
Dorlus will be a breakout player unless he injures himself. Kid is 285, no bad weight, broad shoulders, thick lower body and he’s driven. After looking at Dorlus, Williams, Hill at stafety, give me those kids any day of the week.
A break out player as a true freshman huh? Lol you're such a quook. He sucks. Big Joe is recruiting at the same level at Oregon as he did at WSU.
He won’t break out this year. Hopefully he redshirts. Also, big Joe has better incoming talent than he did at Wazzu. Lol.
It's not better. It's a bunch of "hidden gem" 3-star guys. Same as WSU.
Lol, just looking at the numbers the average composite score is 8 points higher at minimum you dolt. They got one player rated higher than 84 in his tenure and 84 was the top end of his range.
Dorlus was a take at Florida and was committed to Va Tech.
Fat Joe is a shit coach. Cuog dline got better the minute he left
The best WSU was on the dline was Mariota’s last season when they had dudes like Barber, Vaeao and Cooper. WSU has trended up in recruiting and the overall defense has gotten more talented. There was not one NFL player on the dline this past season. It’s all in the backend.

Fuck no, the dline they've had the last two years are the best they've had since 2003. Not saying much and they are still shitty but they were clearly better with the new coach, Phelps or whatever his name is. Fat Joe's lines were complete ass

Cooper, Barber and Vaeao were guys that the NFL wanted. Who on the dline the last two years are guys that will play in the NFL? The 2017 team was undersized and they started slanting and stunting to compensate.

Oregon has a WSU level D-line. Nothing has changed. Malloe is a big dick recruiter. Fat Joe is a shrimp dick recruiter.

The writing is on the wall. Oregon finally has depth and an infusion of young talent. Scott and Faoliu are upperclassmen. They’re surrounded by seniors that finally showed they contribute. Carlberg, Baker and Cumberlander look like above above average P5 players. Popo looked capable of backing up Scott. He is getting his strength back in his shoulders. There will be a legit two deep this year.

And the no name dlines of the last two years clearly outperformed the lines those guys were on. That's my point. The new guy gets better results. Just watch the games, it's plain as day

2016 was WSU’s best rush defense the last three years. Seriously, WSU has upgraded their entire defense except on the DL where they are trending down. I am not saying Joe is a savior. However, it’s hard to argue against his development. Jelks was nobody until he was under Joe. Baker, Carlberg and Cumberlander have become serviceable under him. Every player is improving under him and that’s all I can expect.
As for talent, DL is the toughest spot to recruit on the West Coast. If Oregon lands Shipley, Afaese and few B level Southeastern guys to go along with a 9 tech like Harris, that’s about as good as it gets.
Say what you will but Caldwell, Edwards and Quay are guys that will keep the OL off some pretty elite linebacker talent Oregon is accumulating.

Was a single one of those guys a 4-star recruit? Is Fat Joe known for being a great developer of D-line talent? No and no.
Lol, what does he have to do to get your “developer” tag? He took kids like Barber (off the field issues not talent prevented him from signing), Cooper, Vaeao and the played a major role with Ekuale and Hercules in making the all conference type players. A lot of why WSU was in a good spot after he left was because he identified talent and developed there.

UW mowed over his WSU D-lines every year. Will be no different at Oregon. He's just not recruiting well enough. I'd be calling for him to be fired if I was you but I guess you have lower standards.

Right, because you mowed down Oregon’s DL for whooping 24 points in regulation.

To be fair, that was a lot of points to give up to UW in 2018...

Wright’s composite ranking was the same as Chris Steele’s
So is McDuffie.
