So, why continue to hammer on 1850’s tech as a solution to our future transportation needs?
I thought the new green flying trains wouldn't need tracks.

Who? It's a good option in certain places. California is not one of those places.

    Or Europe either

The reality is that Europe’s trains are enjoyed by tourists, but they don't work that much better for Europeans than the U.S. system works for Americans. According to a report published by the European Union

Fun anecdote, in my days working for multinationals there was a metric unofficially called "slush" that was calculated based on the costs associated with what it would take to spend on a project to make it happen given the "regulatory" burden. California was one of leaders in the world in "slush". It exceeded even such transparent countries such as Russia & South Africa.
Yeah, that’s a fun anecdote. Did you share it with everyone at the tsio rose bowl tailgate? Your days with multinationals?

New quieter supersonic aircraft are also coming to private industry and civilian use. It's going to take you longer to get through LAX's government run security than it's going to take a private airline to get you from LA to New York.

No security needed in an Uber drone. It lands at Target, people exchange, 30 seconds later, it's off to its next stop. Unlike fixed point transportation, each individual “carpool” route is unique.

Unlike rail, access corridors already exist, 500 feet up, then another 500, then another 500

10 global companies have existing flying passenger drones, today.

    choo choo.

California with the high speed train construction was getting pretty damn close to African level corruption, where all the money is just ripped off and the project never even gets built.
