Watching Pete's presser from 2 days ago, he clearly says "competition brings out the best in all of us".
Makes me think that the entire reason he is having Eason share time with Heaner is to get that competitive spark going in Eason. -
Of course that’s what good coaches do, Pete isn’t the kind of coach to worship an ego and give it to Eason right away.. he has to “work for it”Baphomet said:Watching Pete's presser from 2 days ago, he clearly says "competition brings out the best in all of us".

So who lead Husky Jack? This thread is bullshit.

So according to my coaching guys, this Haener shit is silly. Eason clearly better than everyone else.

This is from two different sources and then me putting together the info.
Only Pete is stupid enough to give Haener the job. -

Injuries and non-participants
- Players who either did not participate or were limited in practice on Monday: Jamyn Patu, Ty Jones, Troy Fautanu, Jacob Bandes, Sama Paama, Quinten Pounds, Miki Ah You, Aaron Fuller, Fatu Sua-Godinet, Matteo Mele.
Other Notes
- Sophomore quarterback Jake Haener took most of the first-team reps today, finishing 6-of-13 on the day during 11-on-11 periods with no turnovers. Junior Jacob Eason, taking most of the second-team reps, finished 13-of-19 and had a nice over the shoulder throw to senior Andre Baccellia for a 40-yard gain.
- The defense had a good day getting to the quarterback again, coming away with six sacks (by my count). Redshirt freshman Edefuan Ulofoshio had two sacks in what was a really impressive day for the linebacker. Ulofoshio represents an intriguing option for a defense that needs the inside linebacker depth.
- Early enrollee Cameron Williams continues to impress in the defensive backfield, getting reps with the first-team defense at the safety position, and coming up with a nice pass breakup during 11-on-11 period on a throw from Eason to Terrell Bynum.
- Elijah Molden got most of his reps at outside corner today opposite Keith Taylor with the first-team. Myles Bryant was back in the nickel, with Brandon McKinney and Williams at safety. Isaiah Gilchrist rotated with Williams at the safety spot.
- Ariel Ngata took reps at both outside and inside linebacker today, despite being listed as an outside linebacker on the roster. -
TLDR: Haener sucks, Eason good.Andre Baccellia made perhaps the offensive play of the spring on Monday.
Late in Washington’s 12th April practice, junior quarterback Jacob Eason took a snap, looked to his right and lofted a deep ball in Baccellia’s direction along the sideline. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound senior — who was running step-for-step with redshirt freshman cornerback Kyler Gordon — stuck his right hand out in front of his body.
Luckily, the football stuck.
The one-handed grab — and the perfect touch pass that made it possible — resulted in a roughly 40-yard gain for the offense. Baccellia pulled the ball into his body before his momentum carried the streaking senior out of bounds.
On the whole, Eason completed 13 of 20 passes during 11-on-11 scrimmage drills on Monday. The 6-6, 228-pound junior was particularly sharp on his final two drives, completing 10 of 12 passes while orchestrating a pair of sustained marches into enemy territory. It’s worth noting that one of those incompletions was a drop by tight end Cade Otton as well.
Eason’s final drive of the day ended with a 1-yard Salvon Ahmed touchdown run, the only score the offense registered during team drills.
Eason struggled to find his mark early on, completing just 3 of his first 8 passes before finally catching fire late.
Sophomore quarterback Jake Haener — who received the team’s first starting snaps during scrimmage drills on Monday — also struggled to sustain drives, completing 6 of 13 passes without a touchdown or an interception. And in his only series with the starters, redshirt freshman Jacob Sirmon completed just 1 of 3 passes and nearly threw an interception to early enrollee freshman Cameron Williams, who jumped a route across the middle.
Sirmon later threw the only interception of the day in a 7-on-7 drill, when cornerback Kyler Gordon anticipated a crossing route and cut in front of the receiver. -
Word is Trey Lowe has been tearing it up lately. It would be great if that guy emerges this year as a slot receiver of the natural athlete variety.

Heard that Saturday went about as well as Cal did for Haener. Please god.

Jones and Fuller by no means should have their spot given to them when they get back. They both sit injured in this most crucial time for that position group to start doing something of substance. I know Fuller played well most of last year but he really faded down the stretch. I really hope they are not handed their jobs.

I agree but we all know Petersen is going to do it. We should also throw in Pounds into this group.Gladstone said:Jones and Fuller by no means should have their spot given to them when they get back.
