Sucks to lose instate kids but Simon is overrated. The comparisons to Myles Jack are ridiculous.

Simon is overated but a must take, especially this year. I'd give him a 89-90 grade as a player with 99 makeupDoogWhisperer said:Sucks to lose instate kids but Simon is overrated. The comparisons to Myles Jack are ridiculous.

Have we ever had a spring these last six years where recruiting wasn't a complete shit show in dire straights?

We just need PGOS to guarantee this will be the greatest class evar!GreenRiverGatorz said:Have we ever had a spring these last six years where recruiting wasn't a complete shit show in dire straights?

True. The buzz going around now suggests this one is different, different.GreenRiverGatorz said:Have we ever had a spring these last six years where recruiting wasn't a complete shit show in dire straights?

I would argue against the 99 makeup, too. He's not that kind of athlete and looking at him, I would bet he doesn't get much more athletic. Looks like the typical kid that developed early.Baseman said:

From the auSC 247 mod
"Following Brandon Huffman's pick last night of Tacoma (Wash.) Lincoln four-star athlete Julien Simon to USC, I am also told through separate sources that USC is in a very good position to land Simon. I don't think Simon's commitment is imminent, but there is definitely buzz behind him heading to USC from both sides of his recruitment right now. USC has had very little traction recruiting FSP players like SImon in the past. The Trojans reached a few years ago and signed cornerback Trey Davis, which proved a bad move as Davis ransferred out of USC weeks after enrolling. Simon would be a much bigger target to land, obviously. He is projected as a linebacker for USC." -

SC put Donte Williams on Simon. That guy vs Gregory in recruiting is gonna be a joke. Donte is definitely the new Tosh in the Pac. He was recruiter on all the big name kids Oregon got the last couple years. Wish Jimmy would have taken a swing at him since he was obviously more than willing to leave the ducks
-
The word is USC gave Dante $900k/year. He made ~$500k with bonuses at Oregon. For his specialty, recruiting, USC is a much better job than either Oregon or Washington. So at that point you have to pay your CB coach a million bucks. It’s what the big boys do, but Pac-12 public school admins will shit themselves at the thought of that. And Oregon preferred keeping Heywood, who is an excellent recruiter and actually coaches the players.bananasnblondes said:SC put Donte Williams on Simon. I said it a year ago...this kid isn't going to be very good. He's slow twitch everything and not explosive. Other than he's from the state and best friends with JT....he's going to be a JAG. Take screen shots and call me in 3 years.
-
I generally agree with this. He is likely way overrated and we dont know how many schools are actively persuing him. I want him because hes an instate kid and is highly rated. If we get Wynden as our one ILB this class then, from a player potential perspective, we did better than taking Simon as our ILB. However, this just seems like a time where you go ahead and take 2 ILBs just because you dont want to turn away a high rated local kid. Space isnt THAT tight.vadawg said:I said it a year ago...this kid isn't going to be very good. He's slow twitch everything and not explosive. You take this local kid every fucking time. Then you look at the additional ties, the current perception as well as the current class and you go do whatever you have to no ballz to get his kid committed.

Is he really gonna tell mama that he’s leaving on Mother’s Day?

Might tell her he got her a fat bag thoughQuietcowskee said:Is he really gonna tell mama that he’s leaving on Mother’s Day?

Will he be worse than Cooper Macdonald? Bruener? Phonzo Tuputala? Or Jackson “Clydesdale” Sirmon?vadawg said:I said it a year ago...this kid isn't going to be very good. All of this coming off the worse LB year in Husky football history.
I love how he’s not good enough for UW, but he is for USC.
But sure, he’s a pass. We don’t need him.
God I hate this staff. We’re officially middle tier PAC-12, the worst P5 conference in the nation. -
Who gives a fuck? Figuring out if he’s going to be good or not isn’t any kind of science that anyone is good at. Did you give a fuck if he was good enough for USC last year? Because their class was a fucking shit show. Or the year before...?Beno4Life said:

If this 40 year old mother fucker wants to come to UW, then great. I’m sure he’d be a solid role player in the next 2 years and then possibly be good in his 3rd year in college. He can do the same at USC right now...that’s where we are at. -
If the coaches really want him, I'd point out John Ross, Shaq Thompson, Will Dissly, and Kaleb McGary all played at multiple positions and all got drafted. That is, come in, see where you fit best.
-
I'm hoping he doesn't have much of a relationship with '23 Jayden Wayne...
