Because Sam Adams behind that OL Huff is making is just unfair to the other PAC teams. -
I drag raced with Nathan a couple times back in the day, post-UW career. Great guy. He was really upset about not being able to have a football career.MelloDawg said:
Ha. Nathan Rhoades. I vividly remember his commitment and subsequent physical discombobulation.GaryFromTeenMom said:Doogman Report:
ā Word I am getting is that Myles Murao is leaning heavily to the Dawgs right now. He went completely silent after his official visit to UW last month and there have been rumors that he could be a silent verbal to the Huskies. I honestly don't know what to believe on this because UW never gets a guy as good as Murao out of Mater Dei. Those kids typically stay local (USC or, to a lesser extent, UCLA), but the Huskies have been in great shape with him for quite some time and, besides the Built For Life" program and his outstanding relationship with Scott Huff, he's also aware the path to early playing time is right there for the taking as he could come in battle for Nick Harris' spot immediately.
Right now, if I had to make the call, it'd be Hatchett and Murao and the Huskies would be done with their offensive line recruiting.ā
FatEk has put him on Woof watch.
āMyles Murao - See above. The guy has been pretty enamored with Washington and we've heard from at least three different sources, all independent of each other, that the Huskies may have the inside track. This would be one of the biggest commitments of the Chris Petersen era and likely the top OL commit since Nathan Rhoades back in 2002.ā -

For a kid whoās been rumored to be suspect to leave home, LSU & TAMU visits seems like kind of a waste no? Iām all for kids enjoying the recruiting process but remember how Pete used to say we donāt recruit guys who like being recruited?
Get used to kids wanting to max out all5 officials while knowing itās between 2 schools kinda like how Puka still visited UCLA knowing he was never even considering them. With the early signing period, west coast recruits gettin recruited by schools outside the PAC, and most kids knowing releasing a @Baseman top 72 schools list, this could be a shitty thing we have to get used to in the āups & downsā unless we learn how to close these fuckers like Jalen (if Junior can get Jalen to cancel visits & be 100% committed UDUB can get anyone to do that). -
Do we rescind their offers the day before camp starts?dnc said:

Those SEC trips are āI would like to see games there that I donāt need to pay forā kinda of trips
Itās quite possible that Peteās adapted to kids wanting to take their visits by asking them to not publicly commit until they are ready to shit it down -

Biggins:
Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei offensive lineman Myes Murao has committed to Washington and will play his college ball for the Huskies.
Murao, the nationās No. 69 rated player nationally in the 247Sports Composite and the No. 2 center in the country by 247Sports will play his college ball for the Huskies.
āIām 1000% committed and wonāt be taking any other visits, Iām all Washington,ā Murao said moments ago. āThere were a lot of reasons why I chose Washington but the biggest were the coaching staff and the opportunity I have to make an early impact with Nick Harris graduating after this upcoming season.
āAnother big thing, like I told you at The Opening over the weekend was I really like Seattle and the lifestyle there. I feel like I fit in better there then in Los Angeles. Iāve been to Washington three times and man, I just love it in Seattle so I was ready to make my decision and get this done.ā
Murao took his official visit to Washington in June but as mentioned, he had already visited multiple times. There was a belief that it would be hard for Murao to leave home with UCLA and USC being the teams to beat but the Huskies were quietly always very high on his list.
āItās going to be tough to leave home and leave my mom especially,ā Murao said. āWhen I was in Texas, I missed her a lot but living on my own I think is going to be good for me and help me grow up as a man. For me to grow up and mature, I really like like I need to see a new place with a new culture.
āGoing to a local school would have been cool but going away is a big step to help me learn how to live on my own. I know itās a bold move and probably surprised a lot of people but you canāt really beat UW. I love coach Petersen, heās the best and Iām close with coach Huff (OL coach) as well. Iām so excited for this opportunity and really excited to be a Husky.ā
Murao had essentially narrowed his list of schools down to the Huskies and the two local schools close to home, UCLA and USC. He was a national recruit with scholarship offers from schools from all over the country including Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Texas A&M and Wisconsin.
He came in to Mater Dei already a well known prospect and started as a sophomore on the Monarchs 2017 State Championship team that some consider one of the best in state history.
He moved to left tackle last year after playing right tackle as a sophomore but broke his leg mid-way through the year. Heās still not 100% fully recovered and told us following The Opening Finals over the weekend that heās still not able to plant and push off with the same kind of power and force as he can on his good leg.
āIāll get there and I still had a great time at The Opening,ā Murao said. āI had a lot of fun and made the top five at the end of the camp and that was one of my goals coming in. I learned some new things and got to compete against the best defensive lineman in the country so it was a great weekend for me.ā
Murao made the 'five on five, best on best' competition Tuesday and Wednesday working out at right guard. He was recruited to play center but has shown the ability to play all three positions in his young career.
He's one of the most technically sound lineman we've seen in awhile and once he's back to 100% and leans out a little (gained 30 pounds in the last year after breaking his leg) his trademark quickness and lateral mobility will return as well.
