It’s been stated all along that this class is super top heavy, hence the importance of landing your first offers. Botelho and Herbig were dropped for Bruener (lol) Phillips, Ransom & Ricks are gone, and the DL class is miserable. This is why Banks, Smalls, Botelho & Ringo have been so important.
It's not that top heavy and the defensive class is going to be excellent.
Covington, Paster, Esteen and Bruener are all going to be huge gets for us.
Hopefully we can add a Banks or Smalls to them.
One of these two has to fucking happen. Any defensive class we sign that doesn't include a high end OLB is incomplete, imo. Whatever Pete can do to help Kwat out, he has to do it. Can't keep taking L's at this position.

No disagreement here. I'm the one who said the LB position comes down to "Get Savell Smalls, nothing else matters".

Lol those are not “huge gets”. I like them as players but Stausser and Pease should be able to get those kids to commit. We gotta raise the standards on “huge gets”.
We beat Bama, Ohio State, Clemson, Texas, and Johnny Nansen for Faatui Tuitele.

Saying they are huge gets and people we should be able to get is not mutually exclusive.

Sam Huard was a huge get.
I feel ya & it’s prolly just semantics.
But this the problem with how people grade recruiting. Recruiting, evaluation, developing, and coaching are all different things. Recruiting has to be graded on its own. How many offers does it take for you to close out your class. People see good kids who are coaches will make good and say boom that was good recruiting. Grading recruiting is about how well you can sell. If we could sell our first 3 offers at any position on coming here, I guarantee you wouldnt see more offers come out. Getting Bruener is awesome. Getting Bruener while fucking up the rest of the class at that position is not a huge get.
Saying Paster is a huge get for us would be like saying last year that Jayden Williams would be a huge get for us.

Yes, getting a kid we offered at the beginning of May his junior year is the same as getting a kid we offered in the middle of November his senior year.

That's a terrible comparison.
Agree with DNC about the false equivalency between Paster and Jayden Williams. But I also think LaMichael makes a really solid point regarding the separation of recruiting, evaluation, and development.
Why are we out of it for Ringo and Ransom? This has no intelligence.
We aren't. They just arent as enamored with UW as they would be in a perfect doog world
We have a much better chance with Ringo. Getting drafted talks, but does it talk more than Texas hype?
the one thing that is interesting to me is that I thought Ringo was all Longhorn as he was there all the time and then he got cristoballed to Georgia...I can't help but wonder if he's one of those recruits who doesn't really share as much to the TBS community as they think he does. In other words, who the fuck knows what's really going on and couple that with the fact that our coaches don't publicly humiliate themselves with recruiting cock sucking antics and that our local TBS site people are really just totally disconnected and useless at TBSing then we may have more of a relationship with him than any of us think. Who knows, though.

If he picked a school today it definitely wouldn't be us. His Top 5 is supposedly coming out tomorrow. If we can make his top 5 and can get an official you can never count Lake out. If we're not in his Top 5, we'll probably move on. Georgia and Texas are the clear Top two right now. I assume Ohio State, Bama, LSU, Oregon, SC, and us are fighting for his other 3 spots, but who knows.

Banks would be a semi reasonable proximity.

Reasonable, rational and polite discourse? On HH? GTFOH with that shit.
I see you Jimmy...

We are out of it.
TexASS/UgA bagmen more enamoring then #B4Lyfe (though nfl millions are better than CFB thousands)
