Each season has an impact, some more than others, but do you think that the biggest competition for him, which is Bama, will have any drop off in 2019?HillsboroDuck said:

It's not nonsense, @TierbsHsotBoobs was dialed in on this and his theory has proven itself to be true time and time again over the last decade plus since he first floated it.StrongArmCobra said:
Um no that's nonsense. The 2019 season will definitely be a factor. You don't think USC going 5-7 this season helped UW close Laiatu Latu? You think Latu would be going to UW if SC had gone 12-0?HillsboroDuck said:

UW going undefeated next season and getting back to the playoffs would absolutely help them potentially sign Smalls. Winning always matters for recruiting and the more games you win before it's time for a recruit to sign, the better.
There's a reason UW's best classes were 18 and 19, not 17, even though 16 was our best season.
These kids have basically made their minds up about these teams on the field. Sure something at the extreme margins could shift some things like is UW goes 15-0 or has a losing season but baring that, there's not going to be a huge difference between how our 2020 class looks if we win 8 or if we win 12. That on field difference will greatly impact the 2021 class though.

No, that's stupid. If that was the case, Latu would be going to SC. SC's season absolutely negatively affected their 2019 recruiting class. Latu is SC's equivalent of Smalls. He was their #1 overall target for the 2019 class. He grew up an SC fan. Like I said, if SC had gone undefeated, Latu would not be going to UW.HillsboroDuck said:

Right, it was an extreme season in which USC went from conference champs to a losing season, extreme enough that it put the coaches future in doubt.StrongArmCobra said:

If we are 12-0, we are bemoaning Bush not throwing to Hunter Bryant in the Pac 12 championship game vs a 6-6 Utah team, only for us to win after Fuller throws an INT on a trick play, but Bryant forces a fumble from the returner and Ahmed scores the td on the scoop to win 6-5 on account of a Peyton Henry blocked XP returned for 2 and a Yoooooot FG from 69 yards out.Sources said:
