Jimmy Lake to Cal

Lake made $500,000 last year. The top of the PAC-12 Cordinator market is $750,000. USC (faggy wink) and Stanfords coaching salaries aren't made public.
Cal is fucking broke and Lake would need $600,000 to stay even with what he made this year, factoring California state income tax and the high cost of living in the Bay Area.
But a PAC-12 Cordinator title and $800,000 probably gets the deal done.

PLEASE NO

Am I overthinking this? Wouldn't Gregory make a lot more sense as the new DC for Cal? Or Peter Sirmon?
-
he never specified the name.
Let's hope it's johnny smith and we can all celebrate -
tosh luopi is going to get that d-coord job.
im actually serious here. -
No way Cal can pay to get Jimmy Lake, Sirmon, or Gregory to be DC...they are broke, have to pay Sonny "Toughest Team (not mine) Wins" Dykes, and going to have to pay Wilcox significant $$$. They are going to have to get cheap, up and coming guys as coordinators, especially on the defensive side where Wilcox already has experience. Wilcox would be stupid to blow his limited coaching budget wad on a DC.
And that DC job isn't going to get Jimmy or anyone else visibility because if Cal's D does well Wilcox gets the credit because he's a D coach, and if they don't they will be door-ass-out and blamed (instead of Wilcox).
And Cal is a graveyard for coaches...even Wilcox would be an idiot to take that job.

some guy at sportsline said smith is a candidate for OC.
I think Hamdan and Lake are the two we could least afford to lose.
If it's smith then it's an absolute godsend.
No chance it's Kawasaki clearly -
$800,000 to be a god damn co-ordinator of an amateur football team
only in merica -

The sportsline guy really needs to stop fucking with peoples emotions. -
He wants it. He married Scott Pelluar's daughter and wants to get back on the west coast. He made $550,000 this year and Cal could probably get him for ~700,000. Wilcox probably signs for somewhere in the low $2s as a first time coach, leaving enough $ for Tosh or Lake.rodmansrage said:tosh luopi is going to get that d-coord job.

The top coordinator salaries in the SEC and ACC are closer to double that amount.Fire_Marshall_Bill said:$800,000 to be a god damn co-ordinator of an amateur football team

It's like college football is a professional sport or something.Fire_Marshall_Bill said:$800,000 to be a god damn co-ordinator of an amateur football team

Except for the players because THAT would be wrong. -

Can't have it both ways. You have to pay the reserve striker on the women's volleyball team the same amount as Watson
And every football player gets paid the same at every school
-
He'd rather be first than right.
-
Lake would be a fucking idiot to go work for Wilcox.
Petersen is a high visibility coach.

It can be done as some schools but most do not have the revenue to pay all athletes. And you cannot exclude any of them.
