Yes, I know hearing this frustrates a lot of Husky fans, and I totally get it. But what’s the alternative? Never? This team teased us, and teased us badly. This was supposed to be a "rebuilding year." The 5th youngest team in the country. A team that was supposed to finish 11th in the conference. But they messed with our heads and now we are all confused and frustrated. They ended up being infuriatingly close to something spectacular.
We have to look to next year. Unless of course you would like to jump off of the UW wagon for good. I heard WSU is always looking for new fans….
Any combination of comments that include the following:
We're young Top recruiting classes A team of all frosh (forgetting about that Andrew Andrews guy) How tuff the PAC was Close loss to a 1 or 2 seeded Oregon team
How in the world does that fucktard get paid to talk about sports? Talk about a low hurdle to need to pass to get paid for the peanuts that most of them fall in.
I would love for people to keep in mind that 7 out of 12 teams in the pac12 are getting in this year. It could be as high as 8. When people are talking about how tough the pac12 was/is, please remember that it's not like the pac will only get 2-4 teams. UW had to finish in fucking 8th place to get in.
They finished the year something close to 2-10. When the games were on the line, home against Cal, road against OSU, closing out zona. All of these were wins that would have made a case for the post season and once again they turtled.
Stop making excuses and saying what might have been, or even should have been. The sooner people realize W/L are the only thing that matters the sooner this program will recover.
You are saying that a lot of talent goes to the University of Washington. Thanks for the compliment. That was not the case before Romar. If you know your UW basketball history you already know this. And if you don’t, learn. Romar is not attracting the talent that Duke and Kentucky or even Ohio State or UCLA or even .. well I could go on and on. I think your criticism of Romar has merit. I think the opposing view has merit. Personally, when I see a ridiculously young team—and I mean young by almost historical proportions—play hard and well against a likely #1 seed in the tourney and #1 team in the Pac I want to see more from Romar. It’s hard that that team happens to be Oregon. I admit. But I’ll take my chances against that day-glo All-American Juco factory next year, thank your very much. Recruiting incredible talent like Murray and Chriss is not a problem. If they go lottery they leave. Middle to late first round? Maybe maybe not. That’s a really tough decision for them. And if they leave there is all that other young talent like Dime, Thybulle, Crisp (I’ll admit to not being a huge fan of this one dimensional gunner), Green, Dickerson to compliment the supposed even bigger stud, Markelle Fultz, arriving in the Fall plus the two talented bigs who have been waiting in the wings. An NIT next year? I’d say Romar will have hung himself at that point. I don’t see it happening.

Yet Tony Bennett does more with less....Mark Few does more with MUCH less. Are you saying that UW cant get a better coach than Romar? UW can not get a coach who can recruit and win and not hire escorts to recruit players? Believe me, I have been all in on Romar for many years. The problem is I keep getting the same disappointing results on my investment. In my mind a change needs to happen.

Especially considering that Altman was down to 4 scholarship players going into last season, and has a tourney win last year and a number 1 seed this year.

Are you fucking kidding? Few has more talent than he can possibly handle. He has more resources available than most Pac-12 programs.
Few jumped on the international bandwagon long before anyone else. He gave schollie to Jay Triano's kid who is essentially a guy you 'might' pick up if he hung around at the IMA long enough - but look at all the Canadians Gonzaga has locked up and will continue to lock up in the future.
20 years ago, poor little Gonzaga was just that. Now Few has Learjets at his disposal 24/7 and HBO follows him around.
If UW put ANY type of effort toward basketball like Gonzaga does, it would be a consistent Sweet 16 kind of program. We agree in that Romar does fuckingly less with more - but his more is essentially the same as Few's more in terms of talent. Thinking it's 'poor little Gonzaga' is so 1998.

there's a smorgasbord in this thread alone. The poll is bad enough but click on the date and read some of the responses
Uh, wrong RICHARD
The Huskies’ season is longer than Arizona’s, USC’s, Colorado’s. The dream is still alive!
Whoosh if you think I take anything that you say seriously
