"Serious question. what do you point to in this game as "falling on Romar?"
HAHAHAHA
"He must not have told them
to hit their free throws. Or maybe he should’ve demanded they shoot better than a lousy 56% or 58% from the field."

Because I know you're a hoops junkie ... can you explain to me how I KNEW that we were going to lose the game when Romar intentionally fouled? And can you also explain to me how I KNEW that he was going to foul after taking that timeout with 7-8 seconds left?
people will guffaw and talk about recruits and young players (!) and a host of other minutiae that serves only to distract from glaring W-L stats
you can call a cat a fish but it won't swim

But there's also the part that Romar's lived with regret ever since the UConn game in 2005 or whenever that was for not fouling.
What Romar's never really learned is that there's a time and place to fouling ... it's when you have the opportunity to take away the opportunity for the other team to win the game. What he did tonight introduced losing for his team into the very distinct realm of possibility.
In that position, a solid coach would trust that he's taught his team how to defend against a 3 and also coached them that if they were able to find an opportunity to foul with under 2 seconds left on the clock that they'd do so but otherwise to trust their defense without having to worry about his fucktarded players fucking up the situation by fouling a player in the act of shooting.
And yes, fouling with 5+ seconds left on the clock and they are inbounding the ball at the 3 point line is not the time or place to foul up 3.
Romar knows less about how to coach basketball than Elton John knows about eating pussy.
There's ALWAYS something that you can do better.
As for the travel. Sour fucking grapes by everyone around. the fact that he was able to run straight with the ball all the way to the 3 point line is the perfect example of why romar is a bad in game coach. You HAVE to turn that player at least once to make sure he has to burn time and take a shot from half court, not the 3 pt line. It was very nice of our guys to just let him waltz down there though.
"He traveled. The refs didn't call it."
Hey kem, only one major thing was a freshman(s) fault. Crisp missed a FT. Other than that it was AA missing two sets of FT's, turned the ball over on a drive, and shot a 3 pointer from the corner all with under 2 minutes. This was not a frosh fault.
BTW, Crisp and murray both did exactly what they were told in fouling with 7 seconds left, and murray picking up at half court on the last play.
Jesus fuck these people don't know anything about basketball.

WSU is a mess. Every other team in the conference is pretty darn good this year. UW just happens to be the youngest and most inexperienced. By far.
Romar should be Coach of the Year. Well, he and Dana Altman.
In terms of unmet expectations, Sean Miller (4 senior starters), Steve Alford (4 returning starters and huge talent) and Cuonzo Martin (also great talent) ought to be fired.
Romar? He's done a damn good job with an extraordinarily young and inexperienced team.
In regard to Lorenzo's protest.
