If Not For Sanctuary Cities & Obama Immigration Policies Kate Steinle Would Be Alive Today

“Indeed, if not for sanctuary cities and the Obama administration’s continued destruction in other areas of immigration enforcement, Kate and others surely would be alive today,” Sessions said on the Senate floor. “Her death could have been prevented. But the extreme open borders ideology that rejects even the deportation of criminals — that is, people who commit other crimes than the crime of entering the country illegally — has led to her death, as it has led to the death of many others.”breitbart.com/big-government/2015/07/08/sessions-if-not-for-sanctuary-cities-and-obama-admin-immigration-policies-kate-steinle-would-be-alive-today/

Fuck you believe anything.

She would also still be alive if she hadn't been giving $5 blow jobs to Mexicans on a San Francisco pier.

It's not his fault. Honda had a root canal on an upper incisor that went wrong and turned into a lobotomy.pawz said:

The southern border is as bad as the Cal Bears defensive line.

The Cal Bears Defensive Line looks like the Berlin Wall/Steel Curtain compared to the southern border.

I never defended it. I'm calling death stupid for reading a news source that blames every liberal in America for this issue. When really it's just the fucktardedness of the local liberals (assuming it's liberals, no clue on the local politics there other than its a more liberal city).Southerndawg said: -

The plural of anecdote is not data. The singular of anecdote is certainly not data.
To be frank, I think we need a better immigration policy - but "keep the beaners out" doesn't work and won't be made to work as so many industries rely on cheap illegal immigrant labor.
US policy toward Mexico should have an emphasis on helping that country achieve first-world status ASAP. The more prosperous Mexico is, the more stable and safer our border will be, and we will have fewer undocumented immigrants.
Undocumented immigrants already here (with clean records, which is most of them) should be given some pathway to legalization and possible naturalization.
Something needs to be done about the spiraling drug violence in Mexico and Central America, which has created a no-shit humanitarian crisis. -
So make the stance that "no worries, if you sneak here and avoid deportation long enough, you'll be citizens." Yeah, that'll show them.AZDuck said:The plural of anecdote is not data. The singular of anecdote is certainly not data.

Devil's in the details. There's that whole "pathway" thing. Which probably involves staying employed, paying taxes, learning English, etc. As much of a commie socialist liberal as I am, I'm not okay with the whole "Aztlan" thing.
Also, policy needs to approach the problem from all three angles to work. Plenty of Mexicans would probably like to go home if they could have decent prospects there. -
We already have a federal government that has proven zero ability to balance a budget. How in the hell are we to entrust this same federal government to lift up an additional countries entire economic system, without shit-canning our own?AZDuck said:The plural of anecdote is not data. We've done it in the past. It's only the past few years that the US government has really jumped off the rails. It's a problem, I agree.greenblood said:

The biggest issue is what's next? Keep in mind many immigrants aren't just from Mexico. Mexico is just a gateway to the US. Many of these immigrants are from guatemala, el salvador, nicaragua, honduras, costa rica, belize, colombia, venezuela, ecuador, etc.AZDuck said:

Great, we fix Mexico, then there's 20 some odd additonal countries south more messed up than them. Then they're government can say "Hey, since the US fixed Mexico, let's help send more people up North and the US can then help us out?"
In short, Mexico isn't even 50% of the problem. -
If, Allah be praised, we were to fix Mexico, how many folks from Central America would press onto California, if they were in a place with some opportunities and the language and culture were not nearly so foreign?
As long as there are dirtbag countries there will be immigration problems. Witness folks from Africa drowning in the Mediterranean to get to Italy and Greece, which are relative economic basket cases.
But the best solution to mass immigration to to either (a) let them in, which is how we populated America with Italians, Russians and Germans then fleeing economic decay and oppression or (b) help the source country to not be such a shithole, because most people will put up with quite a bit before picking up and moving to another country, particularly if that move is "illegal." -
People from Central America will still flood the US southern border even if Mexico is "fixed".AZDuck said:If, Allah be praised, we were to fix Mexico, how many folks from Central America would press onto California, if they were in a place with some opportunities and the language and culture were not nearly so foreign?

Reasons:
1) The US will still be a better option, and people won't want to settle for Mexico
2) Mexico being newly fixed, would "need more time" (lol) to get established, and during this time of volatility, a wave of immigrants from Central America could throw the economy back into shambles, thus recreating the original problem.
Your entire argument is based on the best solution to mass immigration. Your flaw is, what says mass immigration at this point in our country's existance is a good thing?
I understand that this country was founded on immigrants from Europe, however, things have changed in the last 250-300 years. It may no longer be sustainable to run this country under that same premise. -
