"They have a nice little stadium"... Nick Holt (paraphrased from memory) on traveling to Rice Eccles to face new conference member Utah.

That statement stands as one of Holt's greatest contributions to husky football.

Utah and Beavis are going to own the expanded Mtn West. I know I'm a broken record but this would be a good outcome for both teams. The best possible, actually.
Competitively yes, financially they both heavily invested in football with the idea they would be made while with a new media contract. They’re fucked without 25-30 million per year. Mt. West makes like 3 a year in media contract. Fucked I say.
Yeah I've thought of that. The league needs to find some money or what I've been saying can go in the trash. I don't know where that's going to come from. Maybe Apple TV?

Surely Mtn West leadership is all over this, recognizing that they could add some former power 5 teams, and decent ones at that, and have a better product to sell.

I mean if the P12 is dead then Apple still doesn’t have a dance partner. Maybe the B1G makes the financials work by bringing Apple to take on a portion of the extensive inventory. They were essentially buying UW and Oregon anyway with the Pac deal. Subscriptions in the zB1G will far surpass anything they were thinking of getting in the zombie P12. Now they can get themselves into the game with Friday night B10 football or something. NBC, Fox, CBS and Apple all pony up a share to the deal to make the two or four additions closer to whole. Just a thought.

Nah, NBC wants all the streaming on Peacock. I don't see them welcoming Apple

I don’t know how many threads there are now talking realignment but this is as good a place as any to poast this.

From what I’ve read, the Arizona schools share a BoR and that BoR meets this afternoon/evening supposedly to vote on or at least discuss joining the Big12.

Utah is reportedly on board with following them if they go.

UW’s BoR meets at 2100 (hi @PurpleBaze!) but isn’t voting on anything due to their rules. Colorado had a BoR meeting where they then scheduled the vote to joint the Big12.

UWs meeting is after the Arizona BoR meets which leads me to believe the UW BoR will know if the Arizona schools are leaving and therefore schedule their own vote for a follow on meeting. Hopefully that meeting happens tomorrow and isn’t punted until Monday.

I think it was Wilner who twatted that the fate of Pac will be settled one way or the other in the next 24/36 hours.

apple sitting back watching this thing burn and thinking “we gonna get this dumpster fires tv rights for even cheaper now.”

Steve Jobs rolling over in his grave about the thought of this shit product making it onto the apple brand.

Whether Arizona leaves or not the deal is not sufficient to justify the schools staying together. If the presidents screw this up it's an all time blunder.

Typical of UW waiting it out and reacting rather than doing what is necessary for its best interests.

got to play the game, man. big 10 is doing the same thing.
