Snark aside I think above average is probably about right. I would maybe say average to above average. Eason didn't elevate that team but he wasn't the biggest problem with it either.

In the end, @MikeDamone (RIP) was right.

    This thread delivers.

But come on, anyone who thinks Haener was a better quarterback option than Eason at the time is playing a game of revisionist history.

And Eason was really really good that year. The coaching sucked.

Yeah, people forget that Eason completely disappeared in some of our more baffling losses from that year. He wasn't even close to being the culprit of our mediocrity, but any flavor of "good" is probably a reach.

The only thing people seem to forget about that year was that the playcalling sucked balls, coaches completely abandoned the running game almost weekly and the OL underachieved like a bunch of pussies.

Yeah Eason had crap moments but there was no game he single-handedly lost. That take is complete bullshit.

At the time, I thought it was dumb that he left for the NFL because it seemed like one more year would do him well. But in hindsight, it makes total sense based on everything else going south around him.

Could you imagine Eason running JonDons offense? Yikes

    He had an ELITE tailback
Salvon was good, he's stuck in the league. So there's that.

Salvon is a one trick pony that is really good at his one trick.

Lol. Salvon is holding a roster spot. These humble stats are not surprising. Where he gets a minimal number of carries and pops one to boost his average, but then when there's a decent sample size you see who he really is: a guy who runs into his blockers and goes down the minute someone touches him.

Who cares about that? What does his personal wealth have to do with anything?

Technically, yes, he's "stuck in the league", and least for now. And even this is more than I expected. But he's barely a ham & eggs player.
