One thing that was infuriating was that our DLine was clearly coached to just hold up with their man and "wait" for Mateer to scramble.
As a result there were no fucking holding calls against WSU even with their small OL.
I do think that calling a PI and everything else they called while Mateer is just scrambling/struggling like a gazelle getting caught by hyenas was bullshit. The play is over, he's sacked. Who gives a fuck about anything else going on unless it's done after the play shit.
This loss wasn't as bad as Lake's 2021 Montana loss.
I'd argue it was closer to DeBoer's 2022 ASU loss, but DeBoer had better talent and lost to a worse team.
Our team still has 20 of 22 new starters and all new coaches, and we were in the game until our last possession.
Clean some things up. Reduce the penalties by 81%. I'm not giving up yet.
Cuog was super drunk after the game, even going out of their way to honk and scream at cars with purple license plates, but this was just a non conference loss to us?.
If this game was the difference between going to a shit bowl or not I'd rather skip the bowl.
Sling inherited a Ferrari.
Jedd is pretty much starting from scratch.
I thought it was critical on 3rd and manageable that we took a shot to DeGraaf in the end zone instead of just getting the first down and having 4 downs and goal.
Going forward though, DeGraaf should be the guy in those goal line situations, not Boston.
