Pete had inferior talent at Boise and it never mattered.
Getting embarrassed 3 straight games is about more than just talent. It's coaching. It's a mentality.
This. This is what doesn't make any fucking sense to me. Petersen won more big games @ Boise St than he has here. Are you telling me Boise St had better talent than we? do? There's no fucking way. Whatever he is doing to prepare the team, the coaches, and himself for these big games is not working. He needs to figure it out yesterday because the trend has already formed.
It was basically their only game of the year
That doesn't change the fact that he was beating superior teams with inferior talent @ Boise St. in big games. What's especially concerning is his losses @ UW in said games are not just one thing, but it's a combination of several: Poor game/coaching/player preparation (i.e. Slow starts, gameplan, etc.), Beta mentality, and bad clock/game management.
Did you ever consider it's because those were the first games of the season and not bowl games?

1) Boise often opened their season against those teams, bowl games are different (for a myriad of obvious reasons) 2) CP's record vs. P5 teams w/ Kellen Moore: 6-0, w/o KM: 3-4.
Yes they were better but it makes a world of difference when you have a great college quarterback. UW will be better in that arena for the next 5 years.
I'd say just based on my limited knowledge that at the least, the 16 needs to turn into a 7 or 8 to really get to the playoff contender/legititmate top 5 elite status. Maybe 10 but no lower. Oregon under Kelly was around 10-12 in that metric IIRC. I'm way too lazy to research it.
So can that be done with the recruiting church boy strategy? You almost need some assholes who steal cars or prima donnas
To address this, I bring forth Clemson under Dabo Sweeney as the example. They have often been cited as a good comparison to UW in regards to history, resources, etc.
Clemson Recruiting:
2009 Recruiting Class - 36th in Country - 6 Four Stars - 7 Three Stars - 89.91 Average Composite - 6 Blue Chip
2010 Recruiting Class - 27th in Country - 6 Four Stars - 15 Three Stars - 85.94 Average Composite - 6 Blue Chip
2011 Recruiting Class - 10th in Country - 3 Five Stars - 6 Four Stars - 20 Three Stars - 87.17 Average Composite - 9 Blue Chip
2012 Recruiting Class - 20th in Country - 10 Four Stars - 10 Three Stars - 89.03 Average Composite - 10 Blue Chip
2013 Recruiting Class - 15th in Country - 1 Five Star - 10 Four Stars - 11 Three Stars - 88.46 Average Composite - 11 Blue Chip
2014 Recruiting Class - 16th in Country - 10 Four Stars - 9 Three Stars - 88.69 Average Composite - 10 Blue Chip
2015 Recruiting Class - 9th in Country - 3 Five Stars - 9 Four Stars - 12 Three Stars - 89.12 Average Composite - 12 Blue Chip
2016 Recruiting Class - 11th in Country - 1 Five Star - 11 Four Stars - 8 Three Stars - 90.30 Average Composite - 12 Blue Chip
2017 Recruiting Class - 16th in Country - 2 Five Stars - 8 Four Stars - 4 Three Stars - 92.10 Average Composite - 10 Blue Chip
2018 Recruiting Class - 7th in Country - 5 Five Stars - 7 Four Stars - 5 Three Stars - 93.45 Average Composite - 12 Blue Chip
2019 Recruiting Class - 5th in Country - 2 Five Stars - 11 Four Stars - 14 Three Stars - 90.40 Average Composite - 13 Blue Chip
As you can see Clemson toiled in the 15th or worse range for the first 6 years before they finally had their big break thru in 2015. During that time their average player was less than 89 on the composite rating. But they continued to stack double digit Blue Chip recruits each year which got them to above 50% Blue Chip Ratio. As soon as that class in year 7 popped, they made the Playoffs the following 4 years. Even then, only a couple of those classes were top 10 in the country. But the amount of Blue Chips and the quality of the average player (above 90 in the composite) has stayed consistent.
Add in Dabo's coaching and development, and you have a fucking juggernaut.
Washington Recruiting for Comparison:
2015 Recruiting Class - 26th in Country - 5 Four Stars - 18 Three Stars - 85.77 Average Composite - 5 Blue Chip
2016 Recruiting Class - 29th in Country - 7 Four Stars - 10 Three Stars - 87.42 Average Composite - 7 Blue Chip
2017 Recruiting Class - 22nd in Country - 9 Four Stars - 9 Three Stars - 88.45 Average Composite - 9 Blue Chip
2018 Recruiting Class - 16th in Country - 10 Four Stars - 10 Three Stars - 90.21 Average Composite - 10 Blue Chip
2019 Recruiting Class - 16th in Country - 11 Four Stars - 9 Three Stars - 89.74 Average Composite - 11 Blue Chip
Likely an additional 2-3 Blue Chip will be added in this 2019 Class.
The first 5 years under Petersen has followed the same 5 year trend under Swinney in regards to talent acquisition. Yes, Petersen is leveling up the team in regards to pure talent.
The big difference is that after Dabo lost his NY6 Bowl in year 3, he started winning all his bowl games. He had the right staff, right philosophies, and right coaching to use that talent to win.
That's the major failing of Pete to this point.
Bump for Clemson winning the Championship.
Even the guys who think rankings are stupid, recruiting is for fags, or you just need to coach them up, even they could see the athletes on the field last night. A defense who was losing the time of possession battle by a gigantic margin for 3 quarters was rotating in players and staying fresh. True frosh QB and WR just dominating an amazing defense. The talent on display was beautiful.
Saw multiple posts about how Clemson has top 3 talent and UW isn't on that level. This is just another reminder:
- It took Dabo 8 classes before he broke the 90 average composite score - Only 4 of 11 classes have been in the top 10, and none have been higher than 5th - It took until the 4th year to hit double digit Blue Chippers
The key to Clemson's ascension has been the stacking of double digit blue chip recruits in the last 8 straight classes.
UW does not have the same level of talent as Clemson. But Pete has been building the foundation of depth of talent that is needed. The UW classes are following the same path that the Clemson classes took.
Pete now needs to start closing the elite level players to add to the talent depth, and needs to start winning his big bowl games and Power 5 OOC games.

Multiple radio shows or sports analyst I’ve listened to has said Clemson has landed consistent top 3 classes and have the same talent as Bama, which is why they whipped them so good and why no one else will be able to do the same.
As my previous posts have clearly demonstrated, this doesn't check out. They’ve only had 1 top 5 class and 4 top 10 classes in 11 years, with the average being the 15th best class. Since their breakthrough in 2015, their average class has been the 10th best class. Top 3 classes my ass.
So I decided to Check the 5 year team talent composite. Nothing is available prior to 2015, but that's the moment of their breakthrough so it will let us know the talent level needed to be one of the elite's when you have an elite coach:
Lost National Championship 2015: 5 Year Team Talent Composite - 13th in Country - 4 Five Stars - 29 Four Stars - 27 Three Stars - 3 Two Stars (or less) - 88.57 Average Composite Score - 33 Blue Chip
Won National Championship 2016: 5 Year Team Talent Composite - 9th in Country - 4 Five Stars - 35 Four Stars - 35 Three Stars - 5 Two Stars (or less) - 88.91 Average Composite Score - 39 Blue Chip
Lost in Semi Finals to Bama 2017: 5 Year Team Talent Composite - 9th in Country - 6 Five Stars - 34 Four Stars - 31 Three Stars - 6 Two Stars (or less) - 89.21 Average Composite Score - 40 Blue Chip
Won National Championship 2018: 5 Year Team Talent Composite - 6th in Country - 9 Five Star - 37 Four Stars - 24 Three Stars - 6 Two Stars (or Less) - 90.23 Average Composite Score - 46 Blue Chip
Over those 5 years Bama has had 63 Blue Chip players per year with 12 Five Stars per year and a 93 Average Composite Score per year.
You don't have to be Bama to win a title. You need to stack double digit blue chip classes to build depth to handle attrition, land 1-2 Elite players per year, and have Elite coaching.
UW is on this trajectory as I've stated many times. Now, stop with the coaching blunders and become the Elite coach that we? thought Petersen was, land some fucking Elite players and stop closing with a whimper.
For Comparison, UW's Talent Composite the last few years.

@uzi, if you don't like the format go fuck yourself (AKA would you want to put this in a spreadsheet for me because I again wasn't able to put together a spreadsheet for it because we are "entertaining" guests and every time I get on my computer I get fucking glared at.... I DON'T WANT TO ENTERTAIN THEM BECAUSE THEY'RE YOUR DUMBFUCK FRIENDS AND YOU HATE THEM AS MUCH AS I DO HONEY!)
I understood very little of this, but twatted nonetheless.

I'm a bit concerned Balkanization of the Half Brain movement. Should we really be splitting our forces like this? It seems like the #filth has gotten to be too much for some.

2) CP's record vs. P5 teams w/ Kellen Moore: 6-0, w/o KM: 3-4.
Yes they were better but it makes a world of difference when you have a great college quarterback. UW will be better in that arena for the next 5 years.
- It took Dabo 8 classes before he broke the 90 average composite score
- Only 4 of 11 classes have been in the top 10, and none have been higher than 5th
- It took until the 4th year to hit double digit Blue Chippers
2015: 5 Year Team Talent Composite - 29th in Country - 0 Five Stars - 15 Four Stars - 56 Three Stars - 10 Two Stars (or less) - 85.09 Average Composite Score - 15 Blue Chip
2016: 5 Year Team Talent Composite - 24th in Country - 0 Five Stars - 21 Four Stars - 56 Three Stars - 8 Two Stars (or less) - 85.73 Average Composite Score - 21 Blue Chip
2017: 5 Year Team Talent Composite - 24th in Country - 0 Five Stars - 23 Four Stars - 55 Three Stars - 7 Two Stars (or less) - 85.98 Average Composite Score - 23 Blue Chip
2018: 5 Year Team Talent Composite - 20th in Country - 1 Five Star - 31 Four Stars - 47 Three Stars - 6 Two Stars (or Less) - 87.25 Average Composite Score - 31 Blue Chip
2019 - Projected 39 Blue Chip with a chance at 5 more.
The 91 Huskies had both an O line and D line to die for and the bloody big balls of Billy Joe Hobart
Running back by committee and a couple of small fast wideouts
That's been the theme the last few days - if we need to be Bama to beat Bama we have the wrong coach
Don’t let facts get in the way of a good narrative ya fucks.

TL:DR
UW is on this trajectory as I've stated many times. Kill the coaching blunders and become the elite coach that that Petersen is, then land some fucking elite players like Smalls, Banks, and all of the 2021 kids.
Most definitely trite, assuredly passé, definitely not facile.
Methinks Airwolf hated Chest’s version and how much he talks about it on his pod (who wouldn’t?) and thus doesn’t give mine a chance.
He’s a good guy with good content. But he sucks for leaving and I’ve given up on scrolling through that shit format forum.
But agree, that forum is cataclysmic
I didn’t mean took a big steamy shit in the way Chest did, but rather in the way the great poets would mean it.
Just took off and never gave a second glance back. Like we were the fat chick he fucked but wouldn’t tell his friends about.
I understand the desire to cleanse himself of the Tug and much of the bullshit that comes with HH. Don’t fault him for that. Just miss him is all.
And nudes.
And real money.
And fine whiskey.
