I don't agree with everything in the OP, but I have always liked Creeps style. I do concede one point - I would hated Kavs when I was in my early 20s. I would have seen his entire archtype as lame silver spoon douchebaggery.

That's kind of the point. The democrats found someone more unlikable than the unlikable Cav.
No one likes a clumsy smear campaign led by an entire group of unlikable people. All those fucks went to the same schools and had all the same breaks and then split up into teams and set about fucking the rest of us

The guy mentioned he went to Yale 50 times, and then actually said out loud that it was the #1 ranked law school, and then said he got there w/o any connections, which is pure bullshit.
The guy had fratty nicknames for all his friends, and the one thing he's being called out on by seemingly everyone there is that he was a heavy drinker who typically wandered into obnoxiousness when doing so. Nothing wrong with that, but I know that type very well. I'm related to 50 of them.
The part about him that really made him recognizable to me was the 'try hard' athlete. The guy who thought he was athletic because he went to a prep school where the athletic competition isn't typically what it is elsewhere, and was remembered as an intense 'effort' guy but otherwise not very good. Terrible movie, but the Matt Damon character in School Ties sums this guy up, except Kavy was actually a good student in high school.
Look, it's no big deal. I knew a lot of guys like him, and worse. But if you don't see 'douchebag' written all over Young Kavy's forehead, I can't help you.

Look, you have to remember that I honestly don't have that Bob and Sled and Hondo need to run everything that happens back to justifying one party or the other. I know my politics and I don't really give a shit what anyone here thinks about it. I'm not trying to recruit anybody. I like to think of myself in the camp of @dflea , @Swaye , @HoustonHusky , @TurdBuffer , @Pitchfork51, @CuntWaffle and about a dozen or so other posters who can have competing political, philosophical, economic and social thoughts, understanding that the world isn't black and white and that subtlety matters and context matters, and that it's intellectually important to acknowledge shit even when it's not convenient to one's overall views. Even @oregonblitzkrieg can concede an intellectual point once in a while (when he's not being dramatic), and he's fucking crazy. I used to count you firmly in that camp, but you've become a little hacky lately with your Troompy attitude. Come back!
If Kavy had been a Democrat nominee and the Republicans were running a sham to keep him off the SCOTUS, my interests in the original post would not be any different. I just find it interesting for observation's sake. I have never seen a SCOTUS nominee take that approach, but we are also operating in a political paradigm shift, and an entirely new US demographic has been accounted for in every political maneuver. It's just chintresting to me. That is all. Don't twist. -
