"Sweet" Lou Hudson (6 x NBA All Star, Atlanta Hawks) helped coach my high school basketball team from time to time. My family knew Ed White (4 x Pro Bowler, Vikings, Chargers) pretty well when I was a little kid; my Dad was a small time sponsor of the Chargers in the 1980's. I can remember sitting at a training table once at UCSD during pre-season with Don Corryell, Dan Fouts, and Kellen Winslow. Had know idea as a little kid that Don was a Dawg and Fouts was a dirty duck.
I once helped set up a basketball court for Michael Jordan. Borrowed the court and baskets from the Long Beach Arena, brought it all back to the Warner backlot. We put together the floor and then set the baskets, and it was my job to crank the baskets up into their proper position. MJ walks in, takes a look at both baskets. Points to the near one, says "That's good." Points to the far one, maybe 80 feet away, says "That's low, by a half inch." We got a tape measure and a storypole to check the height, and he was right on. Turns out I didn't crank it all the way. In my defense, (NT)

No real ones.I grew up with Darren Morningstar. He was consensus Wa state hoops player of the year in 1987. Had his pick of schools bit strangely chose the Naval Academy because he was a David Robinson fan. Didn't hear about him for a while, then caught a glimpse of him sitting on the bench for Pitt a couple years later. He was huge now, 6'11" and pretty overweight and clumsy which was a shame. As a 6'7" senior in HS he was skilled and coordinated enough to play the point but that was long gone. Ended up getting drafted at end of round one by Boston, then cut in the preseason iirc. That's it...unless you count Aandy and Fleenor. I've gotten pms on dm.c from both of them which was a real highlight of my time there.
