We've seen Jake Browning come through in clutch situations like Arizona. I really think his injury fucked with his mental game decisions. Ever since his presumed injury, he's had bad games. If he can come back healthy, he should be serviceable.

But the jury is still out there on what he can do healthy versus an elite D.

That's a fair point. Jake did improve a lot this year, I'll give him that. It's not unreasonable to think he'll improve more next year. My only worry is that he might be head-fucked ala Keith Price. That would be a problem. He needs a new QB coach who can build his confidence back up and not look like an Eastern European grandma.

I wasn't one thinking we should sit on it at the end of the half. We got there; now try to fucking win. Can't win playing scared. Glad most here aren't coaching this team. Wouldn't win shit with that scared mentality.

They tried; they failed. Now come back again next year and try again.

A better o-line which gives him time to throw will do wonders. The games he struggled in he had people in his face all day. He's a really good QB. Very few QBs do well when they are pressured...the key is a better o-line.

With this staff, assuming *any* second-year player won't continue to improve is FS. Especially a guy who works as hard as Browning.

Browning wasn't great in the Peach Bowl, obviously. He made one clearly disastrous decision, and missed on plenty of other throws. But after all the Brownsockery in November, I really feared he'd come out looking like a deer in headlights against Bammer. He didn't. The moment wasn't too big for him. He was merely imperfect.

Browning is never gonna be Vince Young. But he's a pretty deadly weapon already, and he's only been on campus two years. Also, he will never face another college D as dominant as that one -- not even when UW rematches with Bammer next year.

    CHRIST.

He was Jack Lockner bad yesterday.
He wasn't good, but Jack H Lockner went 4 for 20 against a fucking Bo Pelini coached team in Husky stadium. A team he would beat 4 months later in the Holiday Bowl. How Locker got drafted as high as he did is a mystery.

I know youre being sarcastic, but still
I meant Jack Lockner overall, not THAT Nebraska game.
Here's an interesting thought...I wonder what Lockner would be able to do as a college qb with a team and coach this good.
While every doog in doog-land is busy saying Jake Browning is good because he's our hero for lighting up shitty teams (and they ignore that he folds under any pressure whatsoever) - it should be recognized what he did after the first series yesterday.

He started 11 for 13 and ended up 20 for 38.

His raw QBRs against the four best Ds we've faced have been:

    Utah - 65.7
    USC - 30.4
    Colorado - 24.1
    Bama - 17.6

His raw QBRs against the rest of everyone? 87.5

He's basically Colt Brennan who chokes.

It's sad because I really like him for many reasons, but at this point he is who he is.
I called you a brilliant cripple. Pretty clever eh?
    <3<3<3

Also - I should add that while going 9 for 25 after the opening drive, he also killed us by throwing a pick 6 right before half.

I said to Greg immediately prior to that play, "all we need is no turnovers here. 10-7 at half will be a victory for us."

The only real chance with Jake is to recognize him as a game-manager and get better protection for him.

However, his INT vs. Utah that changed that game wasn't a product of pressure. He had time. It was just a critical moment and he instinctively fucked the pooch.</p>
I think pretty much all of us were sitting there thinking just run the ball, protect the 10-7 score, and get to the locker room for adjustments. When he threw the pick I screamed at the jumbotron in the Ceasar's sportsbook so loud the hot bartender jumped. Lucky for me she just brought more booze instead of removing me. You can get away with anything in Vegas.
When he threw the pick 6 the old Race Bannon emerged. I was blind with rage.

I am taking perspective on this loss but I am actually still pissed we lost. First time in a long time.

I would have beat him to death with my bare hands.

Fuck perspective. From here on out win or die
I'm hard as a diamond in an ice storm right now.
Swaye you talk about dicks 81% of the time my friend (twice this thread... yes I'm counting).

The play call was fucking horrible, but I'm not against trying to get 3 there with Bama getting the ball after half. They were swollowing our receiver screens all day.

Browning didn't light the world on fire, but people act like arguably the best D in college football history wasn't shit shoving the OL with 4 rushers and blanketing our playmakers.

We needed to be perfect and we weren't.

Kill Smith. This team can win a championship with Browning. Just not this year against Sabans best team.

We all hit the doog sauce hard.

Pretty much every measurable was against us. In Atlanta, against a program that has participated in every college football playoff.

I liken this to the Seahawks run at the super bowl.

They beat an overrated hurt RG3 team (colorado) then choke in Atlanta.

They take that playoff experience (media distractions, practice schedule, etc) and go all the way the next year.

We didn't embarrass ourselves out there. It's frustrating as fuck and I'm pissed off, butt fuck we're right there.

He'll be as good as the OLine.

    Just like our running game.

However firing Smith may help as he's not a gunslinger who should be relied on to throw every flipping down.

    Q for the bored.

I remember Carson Palmer being absolute shit for 3 years and then exploding as a senior. What changed with him and why can't Brownsocks do the same?
