What are your big storm football stories?

520 Bridge was closed down. Took us 1 hour just to cross I 90 bridge.
Husky Stadium, I remember garbage bags by the dozens swirling throughout the stadium. USC sideline was in misery. Game tied 3-3 late fourth quarter. Chuck Nelson booted a 47 yard field goal. Huskies led 6-3.
Ensuing kickoff got caught up in the wind. Bounced around, pile of bodies in the end zone. Uw's Fred Small recovered in end zone for a touchdown. Huskies won 13-3. Went to Rose Bowl that year. Magical time to be a fan.

Which dad?DerekJohnson said:Mine was in 1981 when I was 10. USC was in town. 60 MPH winds and tons of rain. Dad woke me up at 6:30am to leave at 8am for a 1pm kickoff.

All my storm stories start and end with a dirty rainy night in Gorst

Staying til late 4th quarter of the Andrew Luck plungering at Husky Stadium in a downpour.
Taking a girl to the Troy Williams ASU game, losing, and not getting laid. -
I believe that was also the game that the flag broke free from the flag pole and ended up in the lake. There was no kneeling at the time, because 80s people weren't whiny fucks.
And DJ (the real one, not the degenerate here) was said to have given Fred Small a big kiss after that play in a Seattle Times article. NTTAWWT -
We were ready to go watch our Olympia Bears play at Stevens Field when the power went out as the Columbus Day storm hit late Friday afternoon.
I was convinced that they would play anyway and we were going to miss it. -
We attended a shit game, played by a shit Ty team, in shit weather in 2007. Can't remember the opponent. We left at halftime. It was one of the last Husky games I attended.

Do shitstorms count?

I was in Eugene when Hurricane Cobra hit Autzen stadium back in '16. Shit was crazier than a Dawgman chat room.

Which direction was Hurricane Cobra pointing?EsophagealFeces said:I was in Eugene when Hurricane Cobra hit Autzen stadium back in '16. Shit was crazier than a Dawgman chat room.

This was Cal. Last game UW won before Owen arrived. I was there. Good times.PurpleBaze said:We attended a shit game, played by a shit Ty team, in shit weather in 2007. Can't remember the opponent. We left at halftime. It was one of the last Husky games I attended.

Should probably be in the Doog Confession thread, but I was one of like 10 people to stay for the entire 2006 OSU game. Rainy, windy, shitty loss that was highlighted by Stanback losing his leg.

Maybe this is the shit game I'm thinking about. Or, it could have been the Cal game that @AEB mentioned above.UWhuskytskeet said:Should probably be in the Doog Confession thread, but I was one of like 10 people to stay for the entire 2006 OSU game. Anyway, that was a long fucking time ago and it's a distant bad memory. -
2013 Arizona game. My Texan wife went to UT-Austin and we had split season tickets with her 2 dads. After taking in the Austin football scene, I wanted to show her Seattle/UW and that there is actually football outside of the Big-12/SEC. Booked late September Arizona game thinking it'll be perfect weather, even booked the booze-cruise from Ballard, hoping for a great experience for her.
As we get close to the game, the weather is looking horrible 100% of rain/wind. she got layered up like she was going to be an extra on the Revenant, we have matching UW ponchoes. Literally the hardest rain I've ever experienced in Seattle, the stadium lights were on at 3pm, it rained 2" during the game. I couldn't even get a photo because the phone touchscreen wont work when its wet. At halftime she was all pumped up for a chowder breadbowl and hot chocolate to warm up. wait in line for the whole halftime and they've run out of both but are willing to sell her the empty breadbowl for $9, I shit you not. Cold, wet, hungry, and angry, it was the worst introduction possible, but probably the most accurate representation of my experience since 2003.
It confirmed every fear she had about Seattle weather, and she now refuses to consider moving there. -

I haven't been in Husky Stadium since 2007 -

Pretty sure UW dominated Cal in 2007, so probably this game. I was still Doogin' it up as we were 4-2 and just coming off a close loss @SC. This loss was demoralizing and a gentle reminder that Ty was still the head coach.PurpleBaze said:

So that experience convinced her to never move here? That's a fucking victory in my mind.LoneStarDawg said:2013 Arizona game. '96 San Jose State. Dillon had 300 rush/rec yards in the first quarter, on pace for 1200!

I was there too. Absolute downpour. And some of the worst football I've ever seen UW play. I stayed the entire game because I am a pathetic Doog loserUWhuskytskeet said:Should probably be in the Doog Confession thread, but I was one of like 10 people to stay for the entire 2006 OSU game.
