Who Do You Side With...?

It's not an issue that I pay too much attention to.
I'm about 99% certain that whether it is the NSA, TSA, _SA, or whatever, the government can and should run it better.
That being said, I've got no problem sacrificing some rights for greater security. I will always side on trying to find ways to stop activities before they happen than after they happen. I fully realize that you can't always do that ... and even at that probably can't do it at any kind of high rate.
But at the same time, take what happened in San Bernadino. There were plenty of warning signs available to see that something wasn't right. If that event can be prevented, then I'm all for it. You can't place a value on lives. -
If the government checked internet activity I'm sure 95% of this board, me included would be on the "no fly" list, let alone allowed to own a gun.Tequilla said:

Although we all have our own skeletons one way or another, I guess I look at privacy as the type of thing that it's not a huge issue if you have nothing to hide. And in a world where "the enemy" is completely changing the way in which the game is played, you have to change the way that you think about the game as well.
I guess what I'm saying is that I don't have a problem standing in line at the airport for an hour to go through security if it is being done effectively. And likewise, I don't have a problem with people scanning through my phone records for messages or calls that I may make. I don't have anything to hide in that regard and if somehow I am in communication with someone that does have something to hide and get contacted, then I'd be interested in doing what I could do to my part. -

This thread triggered a memory that Tequilla was questioning whether to go to Dallas because of Ebola. I'm ashamed that I remember that, but I do. It all makes sense now.

When the FBI says they have to literally fuck you in the ass to fight terrorism, I hope @Tequilla is ok with it. I mean if it's for our security and all, how could you resist?

You fucktards clearly missed the part where I said that it could and should be run better.doogsinparadise said:When the FBI says they have to literally fuck you in the ass to fight terrorism, I hope @Tequilla is ok with it. I mean if it's for our security and all, how could you resist?
You have your heads in the sand if you don't think that the plotting, etc. for activity isn't happening on phones and the internet.
As for Dallas and Ebola, you're damn right that I'm going to pay attention to what is going on around me, or where I'm going, and make appropriate decisions. When I made the comment that I made, it was at the onset of the outbreak. As I educated myself on the subject and talked with those that had greater knowledge of the subject than me, it was easier to understand the associated dangers and plan accordingly. -
How do you run an agency that is violating our constitutionally protected privacy "better"???Tequilla said:

And no shit they are plotting on phones and the internet.
Doesn't mean I'm willing to or should sacrifice my privacy so idiots like you feel a false sense of security.

The fact that you are okay with NSA (despite saying it could be "improved") and were afraid of Ebola points to you being easily manipulated.Tequilla said:

But when it comes to my two biggest interests in government, it is economy and security. And when it comes to making sure that our borders are secure and that our citizens are safe, I'm very uncompromising.
If you're all about making the borders secure...right now we're barely even policing them, yet you're willing to let the NSA steal all your data to fight "terrorism"? Maybe once they fix that gaping fucking twat hole, we can talk. Besides that, not one terrorist plan has been foiled because of any of the alphabet agencies (besides the 20+ the FBI provocateured, funded, goaded and made a fake arrest).
I'm with you on the border control. But it might help if they actually enforced the fucking rules. -

I would never give up freedoms ... that's insane.
And I don't at all buy that giving law enforcement the opportunity to protect is a sacrificing of liberties if done correctly. Knowing all of my conversations, what I send by email, etc., is insane and doesn't need to happen without a warrant. Cross checking my calls against other numbers, etc. in the form of data I don't find as a problem.
Some may have a problem with people even knowing who they are talking to. I don't. Some may hate airport security. I can live with it. Some things are inconveniences but they are far from deal breakers to me. -
I'm still clinging to my guns and religion.

I took it again and feel the Bern was 93% again, Hills was 85 or something and now Jebediah was up to 60. Huckabee wasn't even near what he was the first time.
It said something like center left authoritarian.
To really d be as accurate as possible one should probably do all 10-15 questions from each section and slide the importance scale if applicable. I only did three on some and the full 12 or so on others and I forgot to check the importance scale half the time. -
I've done this thing 2 or 3 times now and it just keeps saying I'm 100% in favor of fatal 4-wheeler accidents.

Our apathetic citizenry can barely vote once, let alone fraudulently register and vote multiple times. This shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Democrats want to make it as easy as possible for people to register and vote so they can turn out the lazy and unemployed. Republicans want to suppress the vote to prevent these same people from voting against them. Screw all of our failed leaders for letting it get to this point (similar to what flea said). -

That's the wrong direction, though. Your main issue should be with WIC and Medicaid, and by endorsing mandatory vaccinations you are indirectly supporting those social programs.PurpleThrobber said:
I believe kids should get vaccinated because kids, if not coat-hangered in the third trimester, should be given a chance to live. I don't need the fucking government to tell me that.Fenderbender123 said:
I get this argument. But think about it...violence and coersion aren't the only means of influencing people to do something. Easily more than 80% of libertarians believe that children should be vaccinated.doogsinparadise said:Lol at the ~80% of Libertarians against mandatory vaccinations.
But I do need the fucking government to make all those dumbfucks who SHOULD have coathangered their babies and don't like their kids living longer to get theirs vaccinated so I"m not just paying for their WIC program AND their healthcare more than absolutely necessary. -
Go ahead and sacrifice them, then. That's fine. But if you want to make me sacrifice mine, you're an asshole.Tequilla said:
