Amazing what having a wide open path to a championship will do for getting people to tune in. As much as people laud dynasties, nobody outside of the winning team's fanbase wants to watch the same team win every year. Basketball has had that problem for a long time.RaceBannon said: -
But the LeBron dynasty versus the Warrior dynasty was the most watched

Embiid had a great season, but I agree. Centers aren't as important as they used to be. Jokic is a different because of his passing. He is also better than Embiid at everything else on offense and is easily the most efficient player in the NBA.RaceBannon said:Embiid is vastly over rated. Harden is done. Doc still can't coach
All are true
The 76ers made the right move firing Doc. He's always been an overrated coach. -
Denver's starting 5 is just a 'glide to a championship' lineup.RoadDawg55 said:

They probably should already have a ring right after they got Gordon. -
Their 2nd best player hadn’t played in the playoffs with Gordon until 5 weeks ago.haie said:

Yeah, they've been injured. It's been a roster constructed well enough to win a championship.ntxduck said:

Maybe Malone sucks. He did get cucked by Terry Stotts. -
What team in the nba is winning a title without their second (and third) best players?haie said:

What part of "they've been injured" did you not understand? Even with that, made the conference finals a few years ago and lost to the eventual champions in what was essentially the finals that year.ntxduck said:

Losing to Portland and getting swept by Phoenix are the main question marks with them. -
Teams are 56 - 6 up 2-0
2 of the 6 are LeBron
But its over. Jocich and Murray are better than AD and LeBron at this point
Soul crushing loss last night -
Only caught glimpses of the game as the Throbber was out knocking back copious amounts of Guinness with his homies. Argued about transgender rights and drag queens reading to kids (TTTTT, I know).RaceBannon said:Teams are 56 - 6 up 2-0

Jokic is the fucking man. Has to be the best playmaking big man of all-tim (Sorry having @haie in my life for Blazer legend Bill Walton). Joker makes every old man YMCA noon baller spring wood. Old skool.
Lakers need to blow Nugs out in Game 3 or its over.

And from Mike Damone

From a product on the court perspective, can't get much better than Nuggets/Heat in the current NBA. Can't believe Miami is doing this without Herro, too.RaceBannon said:

They're put together about as good as you can be. Even with Porter kind of being a bitch. Gordon was the get that Portland needed. As proven by that 2021 series that got Stotts fired. -
The Dame/Aaron Gordon combo would have been lethal in the play-in round.haie said:

Getting Gordon and fleecing someone for CJ could have made them a pretty good contender with Simons filling in for CJ. They would have needed someone tougher/more serviceable than what Nurk has turned into.
Jeremy Grant has been a disaster 'bro' play. He's overrated which is why he's been on a shit ton of teams already. -
Agree with @haie. Consensus is Porter is their 3rd best player but I think it’s AG. Great glue guy, guards the other team’s best player, knows his role
-
What do you think Portland does this summer? Bridges/Claxton from bkn for simons, #3, and a future pick seems like a no brainer. But I’m sure Portland will fuck it uphaie said:

Miami is clicking.

No idea. Maybe have to trade Simons and possibly include Sharpe. Even then where is your depth going to come from. Not familiar with the cap situation because they've overspent and been beyond fucked there for years but maybe they have some now with the contracts they offloaded last year.ntxduck said:

Pretty much it's back to Dame begging some goodish guys to in FA and hoping he can carry them and not get injured. Grant is expected to be kind of a star and he hasn't been. He needs to be amazing. Done with Nurk, they need to trade for a center that is actually going to defend and not get in foul trouble consistently. The Beavlet is a okay backup I guess.
Thybulle feels like the only intelligent acquisition they've made in years. -
We truly need a lol button here.RaceBannon said:

If they had more than 2 peas under their twig, they would be trading Dame Lillard. The stars lined up one year to allow the Blazers to make the WCF one year with him. And Dame more or less disappeared in the Game 7 which got them there, only to be swept the next round.ntxduck said:

Dame will never win a Natty in Portland. And Portland will never win a Natty with Dame.
Time for both to move on. Despite @haie not being able to spill his shitty IPA, when Logo Lillard makes another meaningless 3. -
Porter’s back will always be trouble. He could still average 25 for a shitty team. If he never had the back problems he would be incredible.ntxduck said:

He’s relegated to being just a shooter, but he is a very good one that is 6’10.” There is a reason he got a max contract. -
Calvin Booth is Denver’s GM. He was the shittiest free agent signing after Jim McIlvene for the Sonics.
He should win GM of the year. Bruce Brown was a great free agent signing. He’s a great role player and couldn’t have picked a better team to sign with. KCP was a good pick up too. Jokic makes everyone on the team so much better and is the best player in the NBA. -

I don't care if they trade Dame.
But knowing Portland's place in the NBA they won't trade him, he has to force his way out and I don't even think he wants to leave. He's said as much. Being the 2nd or 3rd option on a contender compared to what he makes here isn't appealing to him.
I could see some pre-retirement stint with the Warriors. He's never cared about going to LA or NY. -
