Well, it's off to a pretty shitty start pretty much everywhere in the West.

    Trump's fault.

Actually, we? already had about a 50 inch base by last Turkey Day when Trump was still POTUS.

Yeah, pretty sure. From where I'm at it's about the same drive to there or Crystal. Crystal obviously has far more in terms of runs, but I would guess that Hurricane Ridge is probably light traffic.

Lol, I don't think you can even call Hurricane Ridge a ski resort. We're talking maybe 400 feet of vertical with a single t-bar. Plus the Olympics snow is even wetter and shittier than the Cascade cement.

Some call Crystal a top 10 North American Ski Resort. Some do that.

Finally. A Yella tread I can get behind.

    TYFYS.

I bought an IKON pass this year. Plan to use it at Crystal, Bachelor, trips booked for Arapaho Basin, and maybe Snoqualmie. I also hate money and bought a local pass for Stevens.

Highly recommend for skiers/snowboarders in the Puget Sound area to subscribe to an email list by "The Powder Poobah". He is a local meteorologist and ski aficionado. He tracks the weather patterns and is far more reliable for ski forcast than the local news and resorts can hope to be. Legit the only regular email that hits my inbox that I read religiously.

There's nothing that Crystal is Top 10 in in N. America.

That said, I loved Crystal (pre Ikon debacle) and it's a great hill given proximity to Seattle.

I didn't say I called it that. And the more I think of it, the list I saw might have been just the US.

    ATBS, it was #10.

I’m hearing they had an FIS comp at Killngton last weekend. So they must be open.

Not looking good Pod. We were 4 x 4 ing on some logging roads to cut down the Christmas tree last weekend. Should have had plenty of snow on them but were just muddy.

    Hello skiers,

The weather remains mild, with more rain than snow falling on the slopes. I do see cooler air moving in later in the week, with the incoming airflow changing direction by Thursday, coming from the west-northwest.

The high snow levels the last few days means snow accumulation has been infrequent and not impressive. Mild air continues to stream in from the southwest, but the moisture from the most recent atmospheric river (AR) is easing and there will be a break Monday. There is one more AR to come. A new and final AR moves in Tuesday, mainly into southern BC and the north Central Cascades.

Monday will see a little rain snow mix, but nothing to get excited about, as we are between storms. A new AR will move in on Tuesday as the snow levels bounce up (5,500-7,000ft). It’s another day of rain falling in the Cascades as a warm front and AR cause the snow levels to soar. The wet weather will continue into Wednesday as the snow levels rise to 8,000 and then 9,000ft – unfortunately that is above the highest ski slopes.

Cooler air will move in at the end of this AR storm, late Wednesday and early Thursday. Finally, there will be snow accumulation, mainly north Cascades (3-7”) as the AR dissipates and cooler air gets pulled in behind the storm.

Friday and into the early part of the weekend looks cool and finally with low snow levels, but we run out of moisture. Expect little if any snow accumulation. By later Sunday into Monday, the snowfall looks modest (4-8”). I’ll update later Thursday or Friday.
