Smalls probably bought into the hype and got lazy in HS and is just starting to realize how much more work he has to do now that he's in college.
We saw ZTF blow up last year, so maybe with some conditioning and coaching, he'll figure things out -

I thought he looked good last year rushing the passer but clearly last year didn't mean shit and I'm sure he was aided by having ZTF across the line. Everyone outside of 3 DBs looks like shit though so is it any different. It seems like his plunge down to I think 4-star actually by 247 in the rankings was probably earned.
I've wondered how crowning kids as future Top 10 picks when they're freshmen in high school now would affect their development and of course the one UW lands is the one that seems to have had it have a negative impact on him.

He needs to be humbled and know he’s not going to be any good unless he works at it. His high school coaches all failed him and he loved and believed the hype.

I thought Smalls looked okay last year. He belongs, but I don’t see an elite player and never really have. -
