Right so if Brown gets the job there’s not a backup who’s played a down? And if Brown doesn’t get the job he transfers out and the entire depth chart has 0 snaps taken at the college level? I could be wrong on this. One of them could have been playing defensive end last year but I don’t know for certain.
Herbert came in as a Freshman and started in the middle of the season and had never played a down of college ball.

He didn’t set the world on fire but:

Herbert finished third in the Pac-12 in yards per attempt (7.6) as a true freshman. ... Herbert was 139-of-206, 67.5%, 15 touchdowns, five interceptions, 183 rushing yards, and five touchdowns.

More importantly though is I think Thompson could start as a Freshman

Breaking down the five best QB classes in 2021

“Ty Thompson has the highest ceiling of any quarterback in this class. His floor is lower as well, but he could be great and play immediately at Oregon. He has dual-threat ability and great size and strength. Thompson is going to be tough to handle in the Pac-12 as a run-pass threat.”

There are several other options too.

How did anyone watch the Fiesta Bowl and think that Anthony Brown isn’t a significant upgrade over Tyler Shough? I came here after the game to bitch about the coaches being full on retards for starting Shough when they had that guy. Better arm, faster, can recognize which players are on the other team, doesn’t look like he’s having a grand mal seizure every other possession.

Thankfully they decided to tell Shough to mosey the fough on, so there’s no chance of having to suffer through that again.

Shough transferring to save Mario from hisself.
Yep, pretty much this. Mario or Moorhead are the ones who shooed Shuck away, but him just being an option was too much risk to cal bear.

It's bad. Brown was the better QB last year but racist ass Mario went with the white kid. Would much rather have Shough there again to mough up the competition. This soughs.
Brown sucks too. He missed so many throws in the fiesta bowl. Sark> Ty.
Lol. I’m not saying brown is good but how do you define “so many throws”?
He missed like 4-5 easy throws.
    Lol.
He sucked dick at Boston College too hunny 😘😘😘
7.7 YPA against Iowa State sucks dick.

Never said he was good. Saying he “missed so many easy throws” in a game where he only had 7 incompletions, 3 of which were throw aways and 2 of which were drops, isn’t really a compelling argument.

Wow, sounds like Shough was a divisive element in the locker room. Got one of Oregon’s players on twitter saying they’re glad he’s transferring, accusing Shough of working for the police, and threatening to beat him to death.

I’m trying to find any part of this being a bad thing. This is best transfer out we’ve had in years. The quarterback situation is less muddy now. It’s basically Brown, Butterfield, or Thompson.

Shough already beat Brown out for the job once. It's a risky endeavor to run off your starting qb even if you think he sucks.

It seems like only yesterday that @DJDuck was singing the praises of 2021 Heisman frontrunner Tyler Shough

Sounds like Moorhead wanted Brown and Mario felt obligated to Shough.

Kinda reminds me of Bellotti and the whole AJ Feely/Joey Harrington thing with Tedford.

Pressing. Brown was new to the system. Shuck was the presumed starter and had the benefit of the doubt. He lost it.

    Brown looked better.

When In doubt always go with the younger guy, especially in a 4 game “season”.

Can someone explain to me how every outlet has the Oregon offense being "loaded" or "stacked" for next year? Brown isn't that guy to make that happen. If they are loaded then the Huskies are as well because we have all 11 starters back. We aren't elite either.

There is a major Oregon problem here. And apparently this shit kicking recruiting class you got is going to win the Natty as freshmen
Hopefully they can beat the Beavers someday

I’m hearing that playing a game 30 minutes from campus with no fans is super TUFF.

No, I’m curious. Are the defending Pac12 North World Champions playing road games next year?

I wonder how Oregon’s treatment of Shucks will affect the QB room. Feelings could be hurt.

Don’t know what you’re talking about. I am surprised but not shocked. Shough played well at times but was inconsistent. There was going to be plenty of competition with the talent we will have at QB. I wish him well. I’m sure, like former Duck QB Terry Wilson, he will have success somewhere.

TLDR: We don't have a quarterback and I have to quook myself into thinking there's a more than likely chance a young guy emerges to where Moorehead can let him cook.

    Who is UDub’s QB?

Is the short chubby guy back for another year with his awesome 4-3 TD to INT ratio? Or is he getting benched for a good QB?

Imagine watching UW this year and thinking the quarterback sucked.

Oh wait, you didn't watch our games. You just cried that we never had to leave our empty stadium to go play in someone else's empty stadium.

They ran him out for specific packages/plays designed for a bigger qb that can't throw.

We'll see what kind of shit stew this guy cooks up when he has to implement the whole playbook.

Stubby Dylan Morris with his elite 136 QB rating.

Shough was 160 and had more than 3x the TD passes yet isn’t good enough for Oregon, as Duck fans agree.

Doogs didn’t beat a team with a winning record running that fat midget onto the field.
