Sark wants Kwat

None of those guys could scheme their way out of a corn maze. But yeah, they're probably our best options.dnc said:
Tosh or Dennison or Alexander would be acceptable hires to me.RatherBeBrewing said:I think there is a perfect replacement.
Familiar with UW football and the West Coast. Can let Jimmy call the defensive plays. One of the best recruiters in the game. National champion. Knows Cristo and his weaknesses.
Tosh learned a lot from Saban and the SEC. How to recruit better, different defensive strategies, fast food bags have a larger volume than coffee cups, how to manage full rosters.
The inevitably Bob Gregory promotion will be completely unacceptable.
FYFMFE. Congrats to Kwat for recognizing that despite all his sacrifices and ego checks, this program is toast and it's time to leave for greener pastures. -
Eh. After being upset about this last night I’ve made my peace with it. Whatever.

Can we back up a Brinks truck for Jeff Choate?
-
He only makes a little over $200,000 currently. He'd jump at the chance to make what K was making or even a little less.GreenRiverGatorz said:Can we back up a Brinks truck for Jeff Choate?
I'm definitely down for this idea. -
Surprised Boise St took Avalos over him. But yeah, we could easily outbid the bobcats.dnc said:

Wilcox gets 3 million to head coach Cal. Big dick move would be to offer 4 to be DC here
Or wait for him to get fired.
By the way on a more serious note, the Pac 12 salaries suck. Anyone good should leave. Kwat was always a mystery as to why he stayed and why he let Pete cuck him with Jimmy
Oh well. Jenn isn't even the problem. The problem is the same one since they killed Don James and got away with it -
From the Texas 247 mod...
According to a source, there was apparently some friction between Lake and Kwiatkowski in terms of Lake's involvement in running the defense in 2020. So even though Kwiatkowski, who earned $1.1 million as defensive coordinator last season, is a lifetime native of the Pacific Northwest, he might be open to a change of scenery in Texas, the source said.
If true, Lake will be a disaster here. Running off a top 5 DC in the country? His ego will blow everything up. -
JUST FUCKING DO IT!!1!! -
This was my immediate concern when I heard the news last night ... K isn’t open to new opportunities if he’s happy at UWHuskyClaws said:From the Texas 247 mod...

This makes me wonder if it's Lake stubbornness and not PK's that has led to Stanford gashing us to death the last few years.HuskyClaws said:From the Texas 247 mod...

Jimmy is 0-1 against Stanford. 3-0 against everyone else
Lake may suck as most coaches do but so what. You need to fire everyone after 18 and 19.
Jimmy gets his shot with his guys. Petersen is gone now and the soft fucking loser is not missed by all of us -
Sign me up for Choate or maybe Dennison.
-
I want a DC who doesn't get his shit pushed in by Stanford every year. Tired of watching that shit. BUT WE SHUT DOWN CUOG EVERY YEAR!dnc said:
If we lose Kwat to that reject fire everyone.
Flag away. Kwat is largely a good DC and I'm not complaining, but if the university is trying to pretend to be serious about football we should have the resources to hire someone good and not do the internal promotion shit. If they promote from within that tells me all I need to know about the Lake era. -
peterman was the lube that eased the friction for kwat ... now that peterman is gone it's been raw-dogging and kwat is tired of this shit.
at some point even a lifer pnw guy like kwat is still a football guy first and foremost.
- with covid being a real thing
- pac 12 this year played 4 games ... 4!
- other parts of country take football seriously
- pac 12 cannot compete financially and the only two schools with a fighting chance are usc and oregon
- kwat will eventually want to know if he can make the top of the cfb mountain with top end resources and support at texas
- kwat doesn't have to worry about head coaching as sark is there (kinda lol)
- almost doubles his salary! holy shit
and the number #1 reason ...
Austin BBQ.
I wish Kwat the best of luck and don't get too fat eating all that delicious bbq

I so fucking wishRatherBeBrewing said:
That in hindsight, was the death of the Pac
All we got was Utah and Colorado -
So Kwat takes a de-motion so Jimmy can stay and get paid more and when Lake finally becomes HC he has the audacity to not let Kwat run the defense how he sees fit. What a disaster this shit is.
-
Ahhh I give up. Shoutout to the guffawing Oregon fans who will be all that's left in a few years when the AD is dead and gone. I won't stick around for that or waste my time with this shit again.
-
If this is true, that the deal isn't done, Jen better be out on his porch with both cake and pie and her big sloppies on full display on a trampoline while Jimmy convinces him he really IS passionate about rock climbing, bass fishing and Jesus. -
If you are relying on your young, zero coaching tree, limited connections, first time head coach to fire 80% of his staff and effectively replace them in his first two years you are going to have a really bad time.
Kwat knew Petersen would always throw himself on the grenade first for his staff. Lake? not so much.
Might as well catch the coffee cup now rather than be loyal to a guy that might shank you to save his own career.
Lake will be forced to call in some reject obscure guy no one wants to replace him. -
chinned for "sloppies" and "trampoline" in the same sentence.Emoterman said:

This is what makes HH great. -

Do savvy next.

Hearing that JTT quietly told UW he wants a new DC

I fully expect to get shit on here for my first post (baptism by feces) but I'm not here to troll. I promise. Full disclosure: Longhorn fan here. I come from surlyhorns. Those of us from surly who have ventured over here have great admiration and respect for your board. You seem like the same kind of self-loathing, asshole, reprobates that we are. You also seem to hold your $9.95 idiots in the same contempt that we do. I have zero idea who Kim is, but fuck him (her?), presumably. I started lurking after we hired Sark and then came back for intel on Kwat. Sorry (not sorry) for poaching your DC.
That said, I do take issue with your characterization of Texas football. First, with regard to Texas not being relevant since 2005... technically, it's been since 2010 when our fuckhead offensive coordinator decided it would be a good idea to run a speed option with Colt McCoy right into Marcel Darius in the national championship game. Nothing has gone right since then, seemingly. Eleven fucking years. Jesus. Secondly, I don't know where you get the idea the we are under the delusion that we can money whip any coach into coming to Texas. It's not like we have an 870 page thread on Urban Meyer on our board -- that's not a typo, there is a thread with 43,000 posts about it even if 42,000 of them are off topic.
In any event, I've always liked the Huskies. We have a lot in common -- both located in great cities, a backwards ass second rate in-state rival, a border war with a bunch of academically challenged cheating bastards that we've historically had the advantage on despite being owned (badly) recently, a long history of results not matching expectations, and a conference that is circling the drain.
I'm sure you guys will get the last laugh on us when Sark shows up to the OU game with Don Julio in his Gatorade bottle, but so far (what has it been, a week?) he's hitting all the right notes. I'm going back to lurking but much love for you guys. You should go get Tosh. We've been jerking it to thought of him being in Austin and dropping bags off for Texas recruits for years now. -
